Hi All,
I just ordered two new A-pillar covers. The driver's side one I believe was already broken when I bought it. The passenger side one was broken this past week when a friend grabbed it thinking there was an "Oh sh**" handle there. The previous owners tried to attach the trim to the headliner with what appears to be some sort of spray adhesive. It has since started to come off. I want to remove the hardened glue residue, but I don't want to damage the headliner material. I mentioned using brake cleaner to my father-in-law who is an experienced mechanic, and he advised against it, since he thought it would damage the material. I then asked if he thought a heat gun and a terry cloth or shop towel to heat it and dab it up, and he said, "You could try." Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with anything similar, and what gave them the best results? Thanks.
