Did a search and I can't fing the answer. What the largest tire that can go on a stock Av? I'm thinking 305's but I'm wanting 315's? Any suggestions?

I was thinking of getting 305s on my AV, but now I am going to get, 285/70/R17s. I am pretty sure that with 305s and higher you will need a lift, 2inch or more. You could try doing a search for lifts or tires, and ask some of the members that do a lot of offroading or have big tires.
Good Luck. (y)

I found 315/70-17 BF Goodrich AT KO's at Tire Rack for $125 per tire!!!!! It is measured at 34.5" Diameter as compared to 31.7" diameter for the stock 265/70-17 tires on my AV. I was wondering how much lift would be needed to fit these tires and, would I need different rims too? I am going to put a 3" body lift w/ the Hill torsion setup also, so it should be close!!!!

According to Four Wheeler (I doublechecked this with OK Auto in Jersey), the largest you can fit under the truck stock are the 285's (32.5"). The OK guys said they did two trucks with the 305/70R16's and one rubbed and one didn't. They guy that rubbed ended up doing a six inch lift and 35's which ran him about $6G's. They had to trim a little up front to get the tire to clear at maximum compression but they said it turned out good. I'm still waiting for the pic to go up on their website before I decide to do the same to mine. I have a 2500 and put 265/75R16's on with no trouble at all.

Hey VortecRat,
Do you have any pics of your 2500 with the larger tires on the stock rims? Im looking to do a similar mod and am trying to decide which size I like best, the 265s or the 285s.
At least if/when I straighten out my drive train problems....

I put Goodyear Eagle GT II 285/65/17's on American Racing chrome mags. They are the same circumference so the speedo setting is the same. They are quite a bit wider and make the truck look more 'proportional' IMO. No rubbin' and no lift kit to destroy the ride. However, they are pretty much street tires and the only ones I could find in this size, so if I'm going off roading I have to slap the factory ones back on. See pics thru the link below.
