Bigger Tires?

I found in one of my 4wd mags that Pro Comp Tires makes their AT Tire in a 305/70-17. I called and found out it is 32.9" OD and 10.5" wide. I thought read that someone got tires to fit that were 33.1" OD. They were $164 and if you buy 4 you get $50 off the set. Also. 50,000 mi treadwear warranty. Oh yeah I cranked up the front of my AV today. Much better!!

I have the Pro Comp Mud Terrains in a 305/70-16 flavor. I believe that mine are wider than 10.5. 305 calculates out to 12" wide.

to make these fit I did a 4" Rancho Lift. However I believe that if you do a 3" body lift they will fit without rubbing. I think BradyB did the body lift.

Check out this thread in the 4X4 section:

Agressive Tires

There's an extensive discussion about tire fitment there. The short answer is that while I did stuff 33.1 inch OD tires under my Av, they aren't nearly as wide as the 305's. (mine are 285/75/16). I had to modify the inner fender to keep them from rubbing (details in that thread) and they work fine, but I suspect that going any wider (even with a slightly smaller OD) would cause problems. IMO, there's no way to get 305/70's on there without some sort of lift.

Also consider rim width and backspacing as these have a significant effect on how big the tire actually is when mounted, and the distance out from the hub. I wouldn't recommend 305's on the stock wheels...

That being said, if you decide to lift it or go with a slightly smaller tire, I've read good things about the Pro-comp tires... good bang for the buck.

Good luck and post pictures!! :)
