Hey looking to finally breakdown and just replace all the body mounts on my 05 2500. Does anyone know for sure if the mount under the radiator is the same as the other mounts? I cant seem to find a part number for the rad support one. I am pretty sure it is part of the problem, so I dont want to skip it

No check rock auto

I checked rock auto, they don't show a radiator support mount mount for our trucks. I got a diagram from the dealership, they show a different part number for the rad position. I looked up 2500 Suburban on Rock Auto and they show a rad position mount, but the number is different from the Gm number. Current plan is to go with the rock auto SKP brand position 1-4 mounts for the main body, and the Suburban SKP mount for the rad position.

Make sure it's a suburban 2500 with a ,8.1 liter. suburban also came with a 6.0 liter which are different.

Ya the Dorman one for Sub 2500 cross references with that. I got a dealer print out that at least shows the same part number used for all the positions except the rad support. This has been a pain in the butt for a long time with this truck. When I first started chasing the noise, I got rid of it by loosening, rotating and torqueing the one under the passenger A pillar but the racket came back shortly, I tried the factory TSB with the Mylar inserts under the body mounts, lots of work for nothing. Hoping that replacing all the mounts will put an end to it.

What kind of noise is it.

Its a creaking kind of noise is the best way I can describe it. I chased it all over before I figured out it was body mounts. I rebuilt the driveline because I thought it was the slip yoke, changed a bunch of front end components, an engine mount, the transmission mount. the noise its at its worse when the truck is first riven, and always worse in the winter compared to summer.

If that does not work, take a look at the rear leaf springs. On the spring they are 2 clamps that hold the leaves in Alignment, inside the clamp there is an isolator/insulator, so the leaves do not rub against each other. To test this, spray some penetrating oil on them and see if the noise changes.

It's something the manual does not tell you

PS while you are back there, check your spring shackles / hangers, test the metal with a screwdriver to make sure they are solid.

Will do, appreciate the advice. I should have all the parts in to do the body mounts this week. I will report back when done

Well I got it done. I can confirm that the Suburban core support mounts are the same. The Dorman body mounts are about 1/4'' taller but fit no problem. I ended up just doing the core supports and the main 4 cab mounts. There is one in the back that would require removing the gas tank. If I was to do it again, I would probably pull the airbag fuse to be safe. The drivers side A pillar mount requires quite a bit of lifting to clear it.
Now for the bad part- the noise I was chasing is still there. I dont know why I cant just turn up the stereo like everyone else

I want to replace the body mounts on my 2002 Z66. When lifting the body from the frame where should I position the 4 x 4 I will use with my jack? Should it be along side the frame ? Also, has anyone had experience with “Energy Suspension“ products?
