Unfortunately my amp is starting to go bad. A few weeks back I lost my front channels followed shortly by the rear. Two days later the rear channels spontaneously came back, so I’m sure there not long for this world. Two question: One, can anyone confirm that the bose 2003-2006 non-luxury amps are interchangeable between all crew cab 1500 trucks. Two, does anyone know if there is an aftermarket harness that would allow me to use an aftermarket amp with the stock wiring.

You can bypass the factory amp but if you want to add a different amplifier you have to go a whole different route. You need an interface because the factory outputs are powered outputs. You need something that can convert this back to line level. If you use a cheap PAC unit it will work but you will get a slight hum at low volumes. They do make an interface that connects to the back of your radio and provides RCA outputs which you could run to a separate amplifier. But beyond that. ANY of the full sized trucks with the non-lux radio should have a compatible amplifier. The amplifer is mounted below the storage compartment in the console. You will need to remove the rear section of the console, the storage section and pull out the cup holder to gain access to it.

You MAY just have a loose connection on the amplifier, radio or the quick connect connector in the console under the cup holder. Unless you left your sunroof open and water got into it or something similar that would have allowed water to get into the amplifier.

But to be truthful, if you do decide to go the route of an after market amplifier you really should consider replacing your head unit as well. For not much more than the hardware to make your factory head unit work you can buy an after market head unit that has so much more it can do.

Well I pulled apart my center console and checked all the connections, no joy. After visiting Crutchfield I decided to just replace my amp with a junkyard unit. $50 and a 6 month warrant. i found out I have expensive taste, the head units I was looking at were in the $300 to $400 range.
