I have an 04 w/Bose, w/XM, no On Star. On the display I noticed it says DVD. Is this unit capable of playing a DVD and if so how do I attach a monitor?

It doesn't sound like it's programmed correctly. That position is if you have the RSE system.

The radio (I presume it's the UC6 - 6 Disk head unit) should show only the equipment you have, only selecting AM, FM1, FM2, XM1 & XM2 in your case (as you described).

If the other shows, the dealer should reprogram it (and clear the error codes)!
HTH!

BTW - Nope! Just CD's.

I think he's just noticing the items that CAN be lit. DVD is one of the LED options inside the face.

It is an option but you need the hardware! If you don't have that, it shouldn't select and illuminate.
Yep! Maybe so. The "masking" is built-in, part of the display.

I noticed that as well on mine...wonder what it's for. I could read the manual....NO WAY! that is 2 easy.

I rather wonder till my skull explodes :E:  ;D :3: >:D :6: :-X ???

If you have the controls and headphone jacks in the rear of the center console (controls volume and track of cd player/radio. Can you add a dvd player into the system or is it there?

To add RSE, you need to get the factory harness and equipment, install and program the audio system to have the DVD position select and illuminate.

The RSA is an output and control panel "module". If you "tapped" or switched in a line-in at the vol control wiper, for an audio input, you would have it for some RSA operation only.

Instead, for the audio part:
`Just get an aftermarket adapter for your (if it's stock) system and install a seperate DVD player & screens; the adapter has a switch so you can select your audio source.
Many combinations and ideas...

Adapters:
Pac Audio

Order it from a site sponsor, they'll certainly help!
