Got some 315/75 16 Baja Claw Radials installed today. Sorry no pics. Just got home and it's storming like a mofo. Won't be surprised if i get to office in the a.m. to find it underwater again...

But anyways...

1st impresssions:

Size:
Not as big as I imagined. Coming from the 33 Nitto's I thought they would be bigger. However, they ARE bigger. Just not as I imagined. I trimmed some plastic other day, but it's not enough. Will have to get out there and get a little more.

From a distance I can clearly see they fill the wheel wells much better!

Ride:

Excellent so far. They must have balanced much easier than my Nitto's. I had one tire from the Nitto's that gave me trouble. These ride interstate 90% better/smoother. a 8mph or lower you can feel the tread.

Noise:

undecided...compared to the Nitto's...well, my Nitto's were funny, sometimes they seemed loud and other times not. These have a different hum to them, but it's not that bad. Besides, with the exhaust and Intake, you can't hear too much. But these aren't nearly as loud as I expected.

Traction:

No mud yet obviously, but the storm demonstrated the directional tread for me.

As I was driving I would occassionallly here a weird hum. After a few times i realized i was hitting water puddles. The tread pushed them clean aside. I didn't even feel them in the wheel. I was amazed. I hit some bigger ones and then felt a slight pull, but where the all-terrains would have nearly yanked the wheel from my hand, these drove through without notice.

Looks:

guess you could file this under size...sorta.

They look awesome. Fill the wheel wells better and the tread is super aggressive. I only wish I had a wider wheel (10 inch) so i'd have a wider look, but i'm happy. Besided, i'd have to trim beau coup with 10 inch width.

Will get some pics tomorrow! Hopefully get to test out the mud tractions soon!

Mud!

Few snapshots before battery died. Will get more from a distance

Mud!

What is they say about a thread with no pics ;)

Also remember the difference in height between a 35" and a 33" on the truck is only 1 ". I have been going back and forth about a bigger tire. But then I have the 10" wide wheels and would need to buy new ones to get 35" tires to fit without trimming half my cladding away or installing a body lift as well.

Hurry up with the pics Mud!

They sound like awesome tires Mud, but we NEED pics. ;D

Here ya go Mud. 37's with a 7" Fabtech lift. Never heard of a 7" lift but I will see these on my truck in the future. Obviosly it can be done.

Sweet, but you have the 2500 right? do a 3 inch b/l and do some 38's with trimming!!! Now THAT will look sweet!!! Your rig will be able to handle the larger rubber.

Provided you change the gears too...lol

Who's AV is that?

Mud!

It was on ebay a week ago. Not a bad price either. How do I find out what gears I have now? I know there is something like take the cover off and turn the wheels and count how many revolutions it turns.

Fireeater, there should be a little plaque or sticker in the glovebox on the side that says the gears that you have.
Or you can just call Chevy, and give them your VIN, and thet'll tell you. (y)

They look great Mud (y) I cannot believe they aren't noisy though ???

yeah surprised the hell out of me. I was expecting a constant loud drummmmmmmm....but no. Not that bad at all. Can't even hear it if you have the radio at a decent level.

Damn, I like them! They look good! But, one problem dude... It's gonna suck picking the little hondas out the tread when they get stuck between the tread lugs... hehehe >:D (y)

No man...just spin the tires a bit and they pop-out themselves.

Nice looking tires Mud!

Those are mounted on 8" wide wheels right?

Sick tires man! Welcome to the club! Going from the 33" to the 35" really makes a difference.... ;) What gears are you running? I'm getting mine changed from 3.73 to 4.56 Too boggy on the freeway hill climbs... :2:

That is one nice looking street truck. ;)

Looks like it never gets off road though, :cautious: too bad, too those tires look like they would be fun to play in the mud and snow with.

Now... if there were some photos of the new tires testing their tread in the mud.... well that'd know it wasn't all for show. ;) j/k

They look great. Are the regulators a true bead lock?
