Would you participate in a boycott of Chevy because of this?

Some outraged Americans are asking fellow viewers to boycott Fox Television's Mr. Personality and all companies who advertise on the new reality show, which is hosted by Monica Lewinsky.

Some of the calls for boycott are being launched on, of all places, the show's own message board. ?"OK I turned the show on long enough to see who is paying FOX & Monica's salaries, noted one viewer, who then supplied links to the advertisers Arby's, Chevy and Hyundai, and told viewers how to complain. ?

"I too am really surprised and appalled for Fox's choice of Monica Lewinski for anything" another posting said. "One great way to get Fox's attention is to watch the show, make note of every advertiser, and tell each advertiser that you will avoid using their product as long as they are a commercial sponsor for a show with ML on it."

Or you could just not watch the show and Fox will be forced to dump it.

Kind of like those Micheal Jackson shows. If I hear one more conversation about how someone hates him because they watched his interview or tour of his house

If you don't watch it, it will go away :7:

Monica? I am at a loss as to what she has done that would merit any boycott. I can understand this happening to Jane Fonda, yes I am a VN vet, but Monica?

I don't think so

I'm not giving up my Av because FOX has bad taste in programs. :-X

Fox has bad taste in programming? ;)

Monica is dispicable due to her involvement with Clinton, and I won't watch anything she is involved in. In this case, I would not watch this show anyway because it is an absurd concept. :D: I will not boycott Chevy for them advertising on the show. They will find out soon enough it was money wasted.

IMO WHO CARES! We watch shows with bigger skanks than that every day and do not boycott those. I personally am not going to boycott Chevy or any other company because they advertise during any show. People are getting entirely to picky these days about things. What happened to think skin! Thats all I got to say about that!

dday

I have to Agree with Above..

Just don't watch the Show...
And on the Dixie Chicks, They can say what they want
that is what makes this country great,

I still like their music and understand why they say it..
If I didnt like their music then I would stop listening to it...

But to boycott them because they voiced their option and its against yours, You would be against alot of People
(Sean Penn, Susan Saradon, and many others ) are you going to stop watching Westwing because he was against the war??? Not...

Who Cares.. Its my Life and I'm having fun
and Driving a GREAT Truck...

Hmmm.... GM can shift gears a bit and have another division sponsor the show. Monica could show up in a Hummer - how appropriate!

She did the ex "Commander in Chief", she should get a medal for that. The show sucks but would be better if it was the other way around, girls with masks and one guy. You know the line, just put a bag over her head.

Boycott? Why? Now, if Clinton was involved, I would agree. But in all honesty what did Monica really do to hurt anything? She was star struck, immature, and naive, but she didn't do anything to hurt me or my country.
As far as the "stain" on her dress,........ i admire that in a woman! :-* LOL

What he said. . . sort of. I read somewhere the other day that there were only 6 episodes made anyway. Apparently, producers didn't feel there would be enough long-term draw anyway. Believe me, the pilot for this show premiered in front of a viewing focus group and based on that feedback, they know just how much to invest in this. Apparently, not too much. If the Nielsen's show they are doing better than expected, they can whip out their contingency plans and slap together another block of shows.

FWIW, I worked as part of a paid TV viewing focus group in the 70s. We had to watch Mork & Mindy and Laverne & Shirley pilots for a whole week. I'll never be the same. :-[ :D: I voted to kill the shows, but apparently not enough of my co-workers agreed with me and they became huge money-makers for the networks. Apparently, there's no counting for taste, when it comes to the viewing public. :9: :D:

Ummm....yes I would stop watching the show based on him expressing his political views. He has the right to express his opinion, and I have the right not to watch him because of it.

What upsets me most is that the Hollywood Elite don't really care about issues. They only care about what side of the political aisle you are on. If it was a democrat President that decided to go to war, they would march in step behind him or her. And they all pretend that they care about the little person or the oppressed. That's a load of crap bigger than the local landfill.

They talk about how they are being blackballed because of their political views. How many actors or actresses with conservative views ever get to be superstars in Hollywood? I can count them on one hand.

Just to highlight my point, I recently read an interview with Bill Cosby. He was asked his view on affirmative action. He said he doesn't need it when he is on stage doing comedy. People laugh regardless of their race. But he said Hollywood definitely needs affirmative action because today's TV sitcoms and shows are worse than Amos and Andy. Now I thought it was liberal Hollywood that supported the Democrats and their social engineering programs like affirmative action? Guess that doesn't include themselves. What a bunch of hypocrites!

Come off it people we have been down this road already, see comments above. Remember this, politics and and opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one, and different people see them/use them in different ways, weither they are right or wrong, is not up to someone else.

I LOVE MY AV

Now stop :C: and get on with your life and love of the AV.

Grrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!
Woof Woof Woof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My opinion is that Chevy has t make money and right now those "stupid reality shows" are in. I don't like any of them but they are sure bringing in the veiwers. We are just a small part of the vioce. All I have to say more power to Chevy cause they are going to make money off it weather other people think that or not. Just look at all the reality shows now and how many viewers the rack in. The more Avalanche's that Chey sells the more people we get in our club. That is all I have to say about that. Like someone else said if you don't like them you don't have to watch them that is why we are Americans. It is called Freedom of speach.

It's amazing how many people I know that are absolutely addicted to several of these reality shows. I turned one on the other night and the contestants were dipping their heads in a tank of cow blood to bob for some objects at the bottom of the tank. Who thought that up? Are the people that participate actually proud of their accomplishments. All it did was make me want to :D:

Dont boycott Monica or GM, she was the village idiot, the truly DISPISEABLE one was our so called "leader" for carrying on like so in the Oral Office!

If GM REALLY was smart I think they would release a H2 Hummer "Monica Edition" (aka the Hummin Hummer). Standard equipment would include a front benchseat (aka "Knobber Pkg" as found in my Av), blacked out front side windows and a built in handywipe dispenser on the dash... ?;D

Damn I oughta be in marketing!
RA

ps
What do you think that H2 REALLY stood for? It wasnt to denote the second one, it really means Hummer Squared!!!

It takes two to tango. I would personally hold Clinton more accountable than Monica. I would not boycott a show because the host enjoys playing the trumpet.

LOL!!!!! You can do better than that!!!!!! You drive the ultimate urban assault babe magnet! ;D :B: ;D

Just like with Donnahu and a bazillion other failed shows. They'll come and go according to the ratings.

Chey knows that for a while people are going to tune in to see for themselves what Monica's like. They're intent is to get the brand name and product out there.

Besides, how many adds are out there with guys pulling their pants down... (i.e. "got change").

Fits right in with her M.O. right? ;D
