I am another one who got a new GM brush guard for next to nothing. One reasion is because it didn't have any instructions. My Avalanche is an 04. If any body can send me a copy of the instructions it would be greatly apprecated
Goody :cautious:

PM me your fax number....

If you didn't get the instructions let me know. I just installed one. :7:

My suggestion: have someone you can hold responsible do it. Number two, measure the bolts on the grill guard, don't trust the instructions. :8: And yes, you're gonna drill a "huge" hole in the cladding and a smaller huge hole through the steel bumber underneath. What a beotch with a household 3/8" drill. :8:

There is a part of the installation that really takes two people. Once the holes are drilled and your ready to mount the guard, find a friend. It really helps to have someone hold the guard in while you're attaching the bolts. I did it myself and almost killed myself :7:.

I know this is an old thread but just scored a oem brush guard for my Avy. Looking for install instructions.

Did I get lucky then that I didn't have to drill any holes in my bumper? I just put one on mine last weekend. Mine went through where my tow hooks sat. Had to pull them, but no holes at least

Stock GM cladded GUARD needs holes on top for upper mounting bolts which keep the thing from falling forwards.

Thank you very much

I’m trying to install the OEM brush guard as well. I haven’t found the install instructions from this thread. I know it was posted a while back, but would like some help.
02 AV 2500

look in resources...

Wow… thank you! This is my 2nd 02 AV 2500, 145K. I wanted to find one for the first truck I had but could never find one in good enough shape. I scored this one for $75, as it ended up… the fella gave me the whole front clip, salvaged bumper cover, frame, fogs, brush guard, and both rear quarter cladding for $250. It all matches perfectly… God is Gracious!
Btw, I definitely enjoy reading thru this forum and learning more about the AV’s.
Thanks again, I’ll post a pic soon…
