Brush Guards/Grill Guards

I recently fitted a GM Brush guard on my 2500 AV. The modifications are minor. Top mounts the same, the lower brackets need very little work. If anyone needs info, contact me at dbacch@qtm.net

nope...says webshot user is gone bye-bye....

Sorry to lazy to post the pic, but if you click on my photo link and look in "Lots o mods" you can see the rear guard I installed yesterday.

The guards on my Av are made by Waag, and they are available at probably any speed / custom shop, and are easy to install. No mods neccessary

I found one the other day - it is made special for the Av and fits its lines very well also come in a gray powder coat to match cladding. Check it out at www.luvernetruck.com and if you like it I have a supplier who can get them at a discounted price.

Received my GM Brush Guard today ;D
However, the parts bag did not include the following items :7:

M12 Hex Head Screw ( Item 8 )
M12 Flat Washer ( Item 9 )
M12 Lock Washer ( Item 10 )

These parts apparently replace the existing machine screws that are installed vertically into the tow hooks. The instructions imply that the machine screws that were supposed to come with the guard are longer than the existing ones. (Presumably to allow for the thickness of the brush guard mount and the lock washer.) It appears that the exist machine screws will work, particularly since I also don't have the lock washers. My question - can I get away with using the existing machine screws until I can get the correct parts from the dealer or comparable parts from an auto shop or hardware store ???

Any and all help is appreciated... Thanks

Where did you buy your Grille Guard and how much did it end up costing you?

The WAAG one piece grill guard and the rear bumber guard will be ordered for my Avalanche tomorros. Beautiful mods. :D

Thanx, Lobe.
You'll enjoy the guards, they're easy to install. Any ?'s or probs along the way, drop a line

SIDELOBE...according to the linky you left the AVALanche version does require drilling and cutting since the p/n was not BOLD....plus I could not find a pic of one on the AVY on there......

I sent an email to company asking if any drilling was required. This was their answer"

"No, there is no drilling required."

I will give them a call and see if they give me the same answer I got by email. This guy may be blowing smoke in my direction.

This is the complete email sequence with their reply first:

"No, there is no drilling required.

To order, we would need the following information:

1) Full Name
2) Billing address
3) Shipping address (if different from billing)
4) Credit card number (you can call this information in too, if you would
like.)
5) Make and model of your vehicle (to double check)
6) Item your looking to order.

It's as simple as that!! Like I said, if your comfortable calling your info in,
please feel free to do that.
