on my Av my tailgate would sometime lock and also sometimes unlock wich was a pain on the WW cruise when we pulled in to Yreka and my tailgate would not unlock so when I got back I went to my dealership and they said that there was a buliten on the lock they had to replace the Besel( the peace of cladding around the lock and handel) and the lock its self. they did that an now my lock works great (knock on wood)

Here is a pic of the besel
PS sorry for my spelling

Only had that problem once, then went away. Thanks for the heads up though, think I'cc drop my dealer a call.

THanks

That's what happend to me it just did it once and then went away for a few months then after doing some more off-roading and washing it, the lock got harder and harder every time tell it was a huge pain one time I had to get to my things through the mid-gate
If I were you I would drop my dealer a call

Good to hear from you, Lance.
I had that problem last winter and assumed it was ice buildup or something; didn't have the problem after spring came along. Almost broke my key off in the lock. I'll mention it now to my dealer. Thanks.

Hope this info helps,

Skidd,

Thanks for the TSB info.
The problem seems to pre date my AV but you never know. I'm going to keep it on file in case I later have a problem with the tailgate.
