Hi,
I just found this site, and about to purchase a 2004 avalanche (it's sitting in my driveway for an overnight test drive). I have just read about these driveway certificates, and wanted to see if abyone had one to spare. I would be eternally greatful!

Thanks, John T.

They don't use paper certificates anymore. Just send a PM (Private Message) to "Flint4x4", another member on this board, with your birthdate, the last 4 digits of your SSN#, and your email address, and he'll get you the Authorization # to give to the dealer for the discount.

I did a day ago, and should be getting the # soon--time for a new Yukon!!

Hey all- new member but long-time lurker. Wanted an Avalanche after seeing the first commercial on TV but haven't been able to entertain the thought financially until now. If anyone could be so kind as to give me a "GM in the Driveway #", I would be eternally grateful. Now that I'm done politely begging, I have a real question. I was/am planning on getting a Z66 because it's never going off-road and I'm not worried about resale because I drive my cars until they're dead. The Z66 comes with Traction Assist and the locking rear diff but if I get Stabilitrak, it removes those two things. Which is better? I did search but couldn't find an answer- it's entirely possible I searched wrong. As I said, no plans for off-road use, no towing anticipated, just back and forth to work and weekend cruising. Any help would be appreciated.

welcome Karlmd, i dont know anything about stabilitrak personally, but if you put it in as search for, and change to "match as phrase" quite a few come up. good luck

I'm fairly new to this group - about a week or so now. I'm in the market and hoping to buy my AV this week. I just found out about the GM Certificate. I generally don't ask people I don't know for favors, but in this case since I don't know anyone who works for GM and the AV is a lot of money, I've decided to ask, beg and grovel:

Does anyone have a GM Certificate they would be kind enough to pass my way?

Your kindness would be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

rdrap, if you stay around here long, you'll figure out, you don't have to know any of us personally, we're all one big happy family and will be glad to help you out. I got my third one using a gminthedriveway certificate I got from a member I'd never met before. Ask, they will respond and help you out! Welcome to the club and good luck with your Avalanche purchase! :B:

I sent you a PM by clicking on the scroll icon underneath the description on the left side.

I freaking love this place. 805engineer, thank you for a concise and easy-to-understand explanation of those three things. I don't know much about how cars work and know even less about trucks- I'll be the first one in my family to have one (unless you count my crazy aunt who calls her Lexus SUV "her truck"- I don't). And a huge thank you to cz3cqg for the Driveway cert#. I can't wait to climb into my new SOM II cladded Z66. Getting rid of my Mustang convertible- great car but no longer makes any sense for me. Got it when I was single, now married with a kid and two dogs. I'm getting an Avalanche, baby!

Can the driveway certificate be combined with my GM card earnings?? I had a local dealer tell me it couldn't be and I know I read somewhere on this board it could be. It wasn't that important a couple a days ago, but now that GM is giving cardholders a $1000 bonus earnings through the end of May, it has increased its importance dramatically. Thanks in advance for any help.

My co-worker did it when he bought his Burba. But, it may be something that's up to the dealer. If the dealer won't do it for you, find one that will. With gas prices the way they are and rising, the dealers are getting hungry to move these big beasts.

The time may be right to move up to a 2004 model.

I am also looking for a Certificate.

If someone can supply me with one, I would happily supply you with the Patriotic Bowtie of your choice. Thanks, just email me.

Hey,
Unfortunately, I can't help you with an In The Driveway certificate, and I'm sure with all the great members here you will come across one! I was however, lucky enough to get one from my uncle, but am having trouble using it at the dealership. I am trying to buy my first avalanche, and there is some disagreements on how I can use the certificate. If you find out, or if anyone else knows, I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible. I am trying to buy an avalanche this week! My uncle told me the certificate was good for $2000 off after all the rebates available, but the dealer is telling me it is only good off the msrp. If you find out the answer for sure, I would appreciate the answer, as my uncle is on vacation right now, and I can't get in touch with him. Also, I want to get in on the great discounts that are going on now. Thanks in advance!

The dealer I'm using is adding 4.5% to the GM employee price. Depending on which vehicle you get and the amount of options it has you could come out a few hundred over or under INVOICE PRICE. We priced a few and thats how they were working out. You of course get ALL rebates. I also found out according to gmfamilyfirst.com (under Frequently asked questions) that you can use your GM card earnings with the driveway certificate. (the dealer didn't want to believe this so he called GM) I'm hoping to get my NEW AV tomorrow or Wednesday, they have to get it from another dealership. GOOD LUCK on getting your problems resolved, hoped this helped.

Are there any more GM in the driveway certificates out there? I have one waiting for June but could use one sooner, I have had it with my Hyundai! If I have to waite, does anyone know if the current rebates end at the end of this month?

GM Supplier Discount is a % off MSRP

Example: MSRP $37,095.00
GM Supplier Discount $34,028.96
then subtract current rebates

I believe they do expire at the end of each month but I don't expect GM to significantly lower them any time soon. About GM card points, you have to read any rules and expiration dates of your specific program. Some you could use with supplier discount by a certain date, all too confusing for me to bother with since I never used my GM card.
