I finally went to a local flag maker to get a quote from them for a flag for the club.. the quote is for a 3x5 dyed two color (white with yellow and black) flag with the standard round cafcna design..

now for the ouch..
for a group buy of 12 flags it would be $125/flag.. but the more we order, the cheaper it would be.. the price schedule goes as follows...

12 pcs $125
25 pcs $75
50 pcs $50

again, the more flags we order, the cheaper it gets.. i kinda mentioned that the club is 7000+ members strong, so they're probably drooling for the oppurtunity.. >:D

also, i brought them the club decal for a idea of the design we'd want.. if i bring them a digital version, the flags might be cheaper.. i have one, but wanted to find out how many were interested before i asked any more detailed info..

soooo.. how many would want a flag and what is the highest (following the rates scale above) that u'd be willing to pay? i'm just doing this to get an idea.. let me know just how much of an interest there is out there and we'll go from there..

i have no clue about shipping yet, but if an order does go thru before columbus day and ur going to the savannah gtg, i'll bring the flags with me..

(come on.. if three members from every state got one we could really reduce the cost... ;) )

If you get enough people I am in for one.

Hey Wikki and Lanman and Tinman put your name on the list for flags... ;D

I think it would go nicely next to my Chevy Flag and my Corvette Flag.

Now what will the woman think of yet another flag... :2:

These will go good with the trailer hitch flag pole! I think it is a must for all who are fortunate enough to have one :C:. I swear I will have one soon. If you get enough to go in on this deal to bring the price down, I am in. (y)

Great idea Kim.....

A club flag for our Memphis Fence Company flag kits would
be a welcomed addition. I'm very interested.

Maybe I'm dreaming a little but I thought EdwardK or another member at ECRM mentioned they were looking into a club flag. Can't recall who.

BTW......one "FLAG KIT" donated by Billy with Memphis Fence Company (y) will be a Savannah-Tybee Island Beach Party raffle item on Friday Oct.10th.at poolside GTG.

FYI - this doesn't sound at all like a bad deal. Especially if you can get a bunch made.
I'm still trying to get a fully stitched/embroidered flag made. The one I had hoped to bring to the ECRM was...substandard. Anyway I'm trying again and it's already cost me over $60 in materials alone. Sooooo... if you're thinking about it...this sounds like a good deal.

I'm gonna pass though, I'm not giving up on my little project. Good job getting this together!

I'm good for one of these club flags if the price point is around $20. Remember too, so far most of the flags have a very limited life at highway speed for long rides and are pretty much shredded wheat after a while. Now, if a vendor comes up with a durable flag, that may be a different story.

Sorry Les, and I for got planetav too. Next time I will just say and others (y)

I would b interested in buying 2 or 3 flags... if the price comes down a tad. I'm working with a flag maker here in California... I don't know what the price range is just yet, but I don't think it will be that high!

when i spoke to them, i explained that the flags would be used at highway speeds and for cruises as well as display.. supposedly this will last the longest for the lowest price..

Count me in for a Flag (y)

Sounds good! (y)

I'm into a flag too if the price hits $25-35 mark.

Imaniguana is right about shredding a flag with the bumper flag.

I was wondering if.......
If I took some aluminum and made a V out if it. I then attach the V to the front of the bumper flag arm in the areas of the flga to below the tailgate. Would this help to make the air less disturbed by the square shape of the down tube? I don't know ANYTHING about aerodynamics (So I don't offend any Pros) but could this help be less damaging to a flag? I realize that fraying will happen but I didn't know if this idea would work.

Seems like something like that would work the same as a motorcycle fairing. You create a boundary layer that pushes the wind out and away. Now, the trick is how to shape it and how big to make it to reduce the wind enough so the trailing edge of the flag doesn't turn to shredded wheat, yet keeps the flag waving. I wouldn't think it would need to be too big, but maybe someone here would know how to calculate this.

I am in for a flag also! I also have done my fair shredding of flags with the bumper flag! Has anyone looked at a Canvas flag to see if this might last longer? I have shredded the Americian flag that came with the Av, and then just yesterday put a Jolly Rodger pirate flag on (Nylon) not even a 100 Miles and it was starting to shred! There has to be a heavy duty flag out there at will not shred that quick. I mean it is just plan physics, this thing going 80 miles and hour generates such a snap that it just breaks done the material!

is this all? come one guys.. i'm not asking for a definite answer.. i promise, if you say yes here i won't hound you for $125 next week.. i'll give you two weeks at least >:D

anyone? anyone? i'm just looking for interest.. something like if it gets down to $x i'll take one.. i just need something to show the flag makers that there is interest... i really  wanna do this but i can think of a lot of other mods that $125 can go for.. >:D

You can put me down for one if we get into the $30 - $40 range. The Bumper Flag only cost $44, I do not want to pay more for a flag than I did for the pole!! ;D

bikerchic,
- are the flags nylon or ????
- are they printed/sewn/applicaid
- are they single or double sided flags?

Did you happen to look at any online sights for custom flags
www.flagemporium.com etc.....?

I have a good friend that is in the manufacturing business and I have him looking into these flags! I also have him looking into making Mini Flags that you close the window on! He should have some prices for me soon and more information is on the way! The big thing with these are, how many people are interested in them! So please go vote if you have not all ready!
