CAFCNA Forums will be shut down at 8:58 AM EDT and will be restarted at 10:30 AM EDT on September 11, 2002 out of respect. Also because September 11 is a Wednesday, there will be no chat.

Thank you for your understanding and I ask that you spend your time with those who matter.

Good idea, boss. Tomorrow should be a day off. ?At the house, the wife said we will watch no TV. Rather we will watch a couple DVDs or play a game or two with the younguns. Maybe even both.

Jamie

Nice choice.
Its the little things like this that we can all do for all those who were lost.

I myself will once again be on duty at the Fire/EMS Control Center, as I was last year, before being mobilized down to Ground Zero.

As our sign in the Radio Room says:

"All gave some, some gave all."

God bless America

Good call Chief

God Bless America

I agree. Even though we may not show it sometimes, there are much more important things than our Av's. We will also be doing some type of a shut-down here at GM.

We will never forget September 11 especially in the New york area. ?I think today people are coming to reality very fast that it was a year ago.... even though it seems like just yesterday we were all watching what was going on just a short distance away from all of us in this area. ?

Many of us had friends and family that never came home ..... and those who didnt know anyone still felt the pain. ? ?

It does seem like just the other day that you couldnt drive around Long Island and not see a funeral convoy for another fireman or police officer or civilian that was at the world trade center.

I guess it just goes to show you that we all move on no matter how hard it is. ? We never can forget ?9/11 and never will!

Lets not make this a Celebration however lets make sure we take time to remember everyone that we have lost and keep up the fight against anyone who tries to take away our freedom.

God Bless America!

I hope no one in the USA forgets.
God Bless all. And I hope those cowards get what is coming to them.
We are having a small Memorial Service here in McPherson Tommorow for all those that have lost something from Sept 11. I don't think there is anyone in America that wasn't effected by it.

It is my believe that the perpetrators will indeed get what is coming to them, either in this life, or in the one to come!

Remember all the heroes and those who perished one year ago tomorrow.

God bless them and God bless America.

Posting will be suspended from 8:58 AM (when the first plane hit the the North Tower) to 10:30 AM (roughly when the North Tower fell). Posting will then be resumed but there will be no chat. Also trying to figure out an easy way to disable the ads...wanted to set up a special home page but for those who know my situation - I don't have the time.

Great Idea Chief! At Gm Canada we will be flying the flags at half mast from dawn to dusk and a moment of silence will be held on all three shifts in rememberence of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.God Bless America....Your friends to the North!

Good idea, Chief.

Sitting here thinking about those events can still bring a tear to my eye.

First thing I did after 9-11 was get on the net and find a nice 25 ft. flagpole and a 6x9 USA flag to fly. Ran lights out to the pole. People that walk around my neigborhood say it really gives them a lift when they turn the corner and see my flag waving proudly.

Our whole house has since been transformed into Americana type stuff - with lots of flags. We even still have a Christmas tree decorated with flags in our bedroom. Just decided not to take it down after Christmas.

God bless the USA!

I plan on spending the day (after work), as I did last year. In a church, praying for all those who lost loved ones.

I will also be taking down the flag that has been flying on my house since that day, and fold it up and put it away. A new flag will go up in it's place, that will be taken down daily.

good call Chief ;D. it would only be right that we do this because with out are great country, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, we would not have our avs or this site to come to. let us remeber those who were taken away from us always and forever. God Bless America

Alex

Ask the CHIEF...

Great call.

I regret I will not be able to attend morning 9-11 activities in Hawaii.

I must hold training. About 50 USN Sailors will don FFEs, flash gear, SCBAs, boots, gloves and helmets and enter a burning shipboard training structure to practice their shipboard fire fighting methods.

Training works. It saved the USS COLE from cowardly acts of terrorism.

TRAINING EXCELLENCE - ASHORE AND AFLOAT,
Murman

Good idea Chief. We must never forget what happened during those times, and we must be ever viligent to defend ourselves so we never witness such a mass homicide of innocents ever again!

good call Chief...I will be were I was 1yr ago at work, that day I grabbed a clock radio off the shelf so me and my co-workers could get some info....the radio is still there and hasn't been turned on since...and lets hope it never does!
