Hello fellow AV owners! This is an attempt to liven up the current AV community in Phoenix, AZ and surrounding cities. If you are currently an AV owner and reside in the state of Arizona, please comment below and introduce yourself. Please also state what part of AZ you are from. Would love to arrange a GTG and share thoughts, ideas, tricks, and good times.

Nice to meet you guys! Now obviously I am a noob to the forum/club. However, I have noticed that those who are a part, are running amber DRLs. Out of the responses in this thread so far, @old skool is pulling rank LOL. @old skool is there any insight/ advise you can share, so that we can all be on the same page? amber DRLs...yay or nay?

Out of your 12 years being a member in AZ, are there more AV club members active still? Where are the best spots to GTG?

Anything you can share about our great state would be insightful

I am not in or from AZ but do have some experience with AVs and GTGs. In Virginia in the early days we had a function on the website where you could send private messages to specific members in your state or neighboring states to help in communicating. and setting up events.
Of course we also had to try and recruit new members to this site to increase attendance. Then we used the printed website recruiting brochures to hand out whenever we spotted a fellow AV owner on the road,in a parking lot, local Chevy dealer or car show etc.
Then as far as setting up a GTG it became a trial and error kind of thing where it was best to survey local members and see what events or venues they wanted, families liked attending car shows or charity toy runs or parades while the young single members wanted places like Hooters.
As far as amber DRLs the cladded AV owners sometimes did it to show they were a club member and other AV site owners could wave when they see them but not chase them down to give a brochure. The WBH owners did it to show they weren't a Silverado or Suburban approaching but in Va it wasn't a universal thing.
If you choose to go amber and not LED or some other type be sure to look for the letters NAL after the bulb number so that it means the glass is naturally amber and not just an amber coating that burns or peels off.
Good luck with your efforts!

I'm not much of a GTG guy...mostly a homebody. Only advice I could give you is, check out this forum...there's a lot of helpful information here, with very helpful members.
