I'm curious as to how many Rochester Members we have here! I'm originally from Hamlin, but I now live in Chili. Married, no kids (still down the road). I own a Black Z71 2002 Av.

. The problem seems to be the fact that the light is lit by grounding the wire to complete the circuit as opposed to a normal switch arrangement where you feed power to the accessory (the light). Because of this, there is no way to get the led to come on with the cargo lights

You're meeting us at Auto Zone at 7pm right?
If it were a regular light bulb, you could probably feed 12V in the pilot light ground terminal, and it would work. But LEDs are polarity sensitive, so that won't work in this case. If the switch is designed for switcing the positive, as I would assume they normally would be, then there is no way to hook it up so the LED works like you would expect. To get it to work, you will probably have to take the switch apart, remove the LED, and rewire it so that it is backwards from the current polarity.03Lanche said:willstoyz said:I just spent 1/2 hour playing with wires trying to get the led to work in the cargo area, no luck

I hate to say it but I am glad to hear that. I too spent like a hour last night tapping the Red wire from the light, then putting it on the switch. I even got a different switch and the box shows the + wires the switched ones, and we are switching negitives... Same thing you said...![]()
