Can a KN FIPK and a TBS and Stock Fans Co-exist?

I just bought a TBS from a fellow member and I just installed it today. I got everything on with no problem except when it came to the K&N FIPK. I had cut a notch in the fan shroud so that there would be room for the K&N FIPK to fit but once I did that, I noticed that the fan blades touch the tube for the FIPK. What do I do?
Can they all work together?
I don't want to spend the extra $500 on a flex-a-lite fan yet. I wasn't planning on this mod for a while. It was one of my last to do on my list.
Has anyone else ran into this problem?
How do I remedy this?

In the meanwhile, I didn't want to take off the TBS after Ijust installed it, so I used the stock hardware tubing for the intake, but I'm still using the K&N filter and housing.

Please help

I know somebody did this, They just let the FIPK Tube shave down the Fan Blades till they didn't hit anymore.

I would continue to use the Stock tubing with the KN filter myself.

I've read that people have actually needed to trim the tube on the K&N a little to shorten it and make it fit.

I was thinking of doing the, trimming the tube, but there won't be enough of a lip to grab to clamp down on it. I gotta figure this out.

Agent Maxwell: Does your friend have any problems with the fans now?
I might go this route also.

Wow I never thought of that I have the TBS and will be getting the K&N intake system, that is a good question and I would also like to know how to do this mod. I remember hearing about some kinda spacer for the fan but not too sure where I read about it

Flex-o-lite is way to expensive. If you want to have electric fans for half of what flex is selling one for, check out your local parts store and ask for Rapid Cool/Thin line.
I moded my 03 Av with 2 3690's and a adustable temp controler for under $200 and have more cooling than i need. I'm installing a cutout relay for the 2nd fan for winter.

TBS= Throttle Body Spacer. Supposed to increase intake plenum volume and swirl the intake air flow. The net effect is hotly debated.

Now that's more in my price range. I don't need the name if it does the same thing as Flex-a-lite.
Thanks for the info. I will check that out tomorrow.
