Can I obtain past service records

I bought my Av used from a Chevy dealer in June of last year.  I know the original dealer because the sales business cards are still in the owner's manual. 

Would the original dealer be able to provide the past service records, customer complaints, etc. if I asked for them?  Assuming they have them, can they legally do this?

Yeah, (sort of) as long as it was put in the computer.  They can run the vin and get all work and complaints that were noted.  Some of the members here can do that as well with the VIN#.  I'm sure one will chime in sooner or later.  (Most are in Nashville this weekend for the GTG) so responses may be delayed a bit due to all the fun!!
