.........advise me on how to do it? I won a set of tail light covers at the Central Indiana Modding GTG and want to get them painted before installing them. Can I just scuff them. paint them and then clear coat them OR do I need to use a adhesive promoter because they are made of plastic? If its just scuff and pain I can do it but to get them to look factory I might need to get them professionally painted! If someone has some Light Pewter Met. parts that they are going to paint, I could send them to you and have you paint them at the same time.

Thanks, Butch

use that FUSION paint from krylon....it works well on plastics....

Butch

use it as a first coat primer.......then top with colors of your choice.....

GREAT IDEA, I think I can do that!

Thanks, Butch

Butch:

My covers are ABS plastic. They can be sanded, painted, and clearcoated. If yours are ABS, they do not need an adhesion promoter.

Butch,
I posted some pics of the taillights and headlight covers that i painted to go on my av. I don't know how to post the link but look for the thread "PAINTED HEADLIGHT AND TAILLIGHT COVERS" It tells how I did them how much and where I got them. I painted and had them on in just a few hours. I think they came out real nice.

Hope this helps.
