Can you tell us if this is a good deal before we sign today?

Hi,

Very new member here (Thanks for all the info) and ready to buy with a Driveway Cert. tonight. I am just trying to make sure we got the best deal possible on a fully loaded 2wd. Any comments on the $$$'s would be appreciated.

MSRP: $39080 (fully loaded with all but DVD...1SM, Sun & Sound, Drive Conve.)

Supplier Pricing:$34937
After Rebate: $31437

Thanks in advance,

Amanda

not bad...

I have seen worse....and I have seen better deals.....

Good luck

Which part of the country? The values and deals do change by region...

Welcome to the club and enjoy the AV. ( Be careful of modding - once you start... it's hard to stop since they are easy and fun to customize)

Hi,

Thanks for the comments so far. We are in Phoenix AZ. Is there anything else we can ask for to get a better deal since we have the supplier pricing? We are upside down on a trade and paying cash for the difference, but the trade value seemed fair according to Kelly Blue Book.

Thanks again,
Amanda

New News!!!

A dealer called that is willing to beat the deal by $1840 which will bring the cost down to $29597 W/O TT&L.

Good news....great when dealers have to compete for business.....

Keep at it......make em come down more.....negotiate...hehehe

good luck and enjoy new AVY....!!

The extra $1840 made it more attractive. That's about $9,500 off MSRP and it is nearing the point where it is interesting. If you really love the rig, it's probably a go. If you are strong (I'm weak), playing hard to get will probably yield an even deeper discount.

Let's put it in perspective:

My local dealership here in Portland, Oregon (Town & Country Chevy) has a weekend deal on Suburbans and Tahoes. An unbelieveable $11,500 off of MSRP.

Heck, I thought I got a fabulous deal at 10K off MSRP when we bought our new Tahoe from the dealership two months ago. :E:

With this kind of deep-discounting early in the model season, it will really be interesting to see what is offered in June and July.

Time is your friend. Screw 'em good, buddy.

Enjoy your new AV.

Steve

Do you mind saying where and what dealer you're getting the best offer at? Thanks in advance.

Have you included brand-loyality or competitor discounts? (Do you have another vehicle in your name). That could be another chunk off the tab, if they still honor it.

Just to update. We bought the truck last night. After going back and forth with the dealer who promised the better price, he couldn't deliver the truck. He was trying to get it from dealer #1 as a inventory trade and they would not transfer it over. Come to find out dealer #2 with the "better deal" had an almost identical truck that he probably would have offered us after he couldn't transfer the one we wanted. Bottom line we liked the upfront business practice and low pressure of dealer #1 and bought from him.

Love it so far but it will take some getting used to the reduction in interior space compared to the 01 Windstar.

Thanks to all who commented,

Amanda ;D

Congrats...........

Enjpy....read through all the sections on here to learn more about your new AVY..and possible mods....

Good luck

Congratulations, and welcome. (y)

How does one get the supplier discount? I am assuming that you have to work for a company that does business with GM? I see prices like this on here all of the time but when I go to the dealers around here, they are all WAY above these prices and I've always been a tough customer to sell a new car to but having a real tough time getting a good deal on a new Av.

How much extra is the DVD player in an av and is it offered as part of a package?

Thanks, Rdrunr

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!! I am sure we will be visiting often for advice on aftermarket equipment. We are already reading up on remote start security systems and reverse senors vs. cameras. We have already added convex blind spot mirrors based on a members advice.

To answer a few questions from above:

We did not get the DVD and I couldn't find it with any package.

We recieved the Supplier Pricing with the GM in the Driveway Certificate most generously mailed to us by Victor.
Many thanks again!!!

Amanda

Welcome to the club amatlock...I know you will enjoy your AV as much as we do (y) Don't forget to post some pics when you can...

It was great to read the posts Amanda, I would have never thought that buying a truck would be so much fun. When I first started looking all I had to go by was the papers and Edmunds.....

:0: Then I found the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club.

Wow ;D what a difference when everyone can get together and share experiences and advice.

I was fortunate to get a cert from another member and when I couldn't use it because for some reason a 2500 is very hard to come by I was able to pass it along and help you save.

Keep in touch and I hope you have many many miles of exciting driving.

(ps, the Avalanche is no windstar, I bet you are glad to get rid of the mini-van. I know my wife can?t wait)

Amanda, sounds like almost the same scenario as ours.

We went to the closest dealer, they found what we wanted, but wanted us to negotiate and agree on the price and sign papers before seeing the AV. (It had been an executive driver).
I found where the AV was, and was able to get a smoking deal, as I knew the original dealer had had the AV for 120 days (info thanks to the dealer who lost our business).

Don't forget to check out your local AZ AV section.
Arizona Section

and the link for our next GTG
Pavilions GTG Sat April 3, Scottsdale, Arizona

Hope to see you and your new AV there.
