Good day All.

Now that Boar-Ral has gone over to the dark side (FORD) , We are now without a Canadian AV owner, to look after the Canadian activities. So I contacted TexAVfan, who is also a Moderator for the Canada and far North area, to ask him how we can add a new Canadian Moderator.

TexAVfan?s suggestion was to start this thread and ask for volunteers. The existing Moderators will make the final decision of who is made the Canadian Moderator, although member input is also taken into account. There are some qualifications for the role, I am not sure what they are but maybe TexAVfan can post a list of the qualifications and responsibilities. How about it TexAVfan can you post this information for us?

So who wants to stand-up and be counted?

Jason

Yak. you forgot your dealing with a dragon... not only will it burn you but the TAIL will surely get you where it counts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you know it will >:D >:D >:D

G.

I'll toss my card into the mix as well. Others to consider maybe....Dichris, Pydpiper or Sparky. Ive got the time to do it fulltime and the patience to put up with Yak and his enemies...oh by the way Yak, aim that catapult a bit farther north. I'm tired of seeing caribou flying over my house. Guelph (DragonSlayer) is a little bit northeast of me...check your coordinates.

I still own my Avalanche. :) At least for the time being. :)

It would be nice to have another coordinator, though. Even without the possibility of eventually getting rid of the truck, it is appealing. Part of the job of the coordinator is not only to coordinate, but get the word out. I have done so throughout this area, but Canada and Alaska is a large area to go over to contact dealerships and aftermarket part manufacturers.

It would be interesting to see who is interested in the position. I know that Chasman is someone I would recommend, though lately he has been too busy to do much. We are still planning a local Avalanche GTG, and that alone is proving difficult because of time constraints.

I'll keep my eye on this thread and offer what help and suggestions I can.

HOw about this suggestion: SInce we are slowly getting more and more Canadians interested in the site, how many moderators SHOUld we have.!! Boar-ral is correct, it is a huge geography here!
As well, a few moderators would have more chance to co-ordinate efforts and perhaps do a more complete job!
I am not sure how recent events affect my position as Canadian Coordinator, but it would certainly be nice to have more Canadian Moderators. Though not simply Moderators, but people who can go out into the community in real life and spread the word of CAFCNA. Some of these details would need to be run by Chief and Gandolph, but I do not foresee any real problems.

FYI all moderators do is keep the forum clean by moving threads...making sure people follow the rules about avatars, sigs, posting pics, spam, etc etc.....

as for cruises and such you do not have to be a mod to get local support.........

I would be more than interested in keeping this section of the forum on track. Our threads here seem to be one the most visited, it would be terrific to straighten them out.
Count me in.

Hey Guys!!

Thanks for suggesting my name, but I would like to decline the offer...... I don't think I can commit the necessary time right now!!!

Thanks

Instead of letting this thread run forever perhaps we should put a expiry time on it, at that time we can change it's course to sort out those who are interested. Five days should be a decent time, 7 would allow for any vacationers to stand up and be counted.
How about the 5th, that gives 5 weekdays and two weekends, our weekend on this board are usually pretty quiet anyways..

Good idea Pyd........So we will close out the active part of this thread on the weekend. On Monday I will pass the names of our voluntaries onto TexAVfan. If you are still thinking about standing up and being counted time is running out.

Guys you should not automatically exclude non-avalanche owners... sometimes an enthusist hasn't yet got their avalanche, but they are here for the right reasons... Brotherhood. (y)

LOL... yes that is true... my point was not to say that there should not be another mod... in fact far from it, for all these things there should be several people who can step up to the plate. In life we all have our busy and quiet times and the beauty of having others also able watch the playground is the best thing about this club.

I made my statement more as a prompt to those who may not want to put their hand up because they either don't own an av or feel that they have not been here long enough... it's the passion for the club and the people that makes a good co-ordinator, not how many posts... how long you've been here or the car you drive... put your hand up and have a go. (y)

OK... now I'll slink back out of the region board and go back to the bar. :-*

Ya Know

So, where are we on this issue?

Good day, All.

Sorry for the delay, I will pass the names of our Volunteers onto TexAVfan today. At that time I will ask TexAVfan what the next step is.

I read throught the list and it looks to me that we have AV42MEDICS, and PYDPIPER. Is this correct or did I miss someone. (YAK are you in or out????)

ARCTIC-AK-AV did you want to Volunteer as well?

Jason

Very valid point.
Maybe there should be representation from your area. Cannot tell a lie, had not really thought of it till I read your post. Certainly happy to have you hangin out with us (y)

Oh, and I'll throw in, but it seems to me there is already ample and qualified names listed in the last 4 or 5 posts (y), and yes Yak, your name was in the last 4 or 5

I have been following this thread closely and would like to tell you all that a list of candidates has been compiled and I have discussed it with Jack (Gandolphxx) an announcement will be made soon!
You all are a great group of people - Hope to see you all some day. If you are ever in Texas let me know we will always show you some Texas hospitality!
