First of all I'd like to say Hello to everyone. At this point I have a 02' GMC Envoy that I'm looking to trade in.But I can't decide on whether or not to get another Envoy or get an AV.I'm looking to get a loaded Silver Birch Z71 WBH with the wheel flares and a 4:10 rear.To get a 4:10 I'll have to factory order one.As far as deals around here there all close, basically dealer invoice plus the 3500 rebate if delivered by the end of next month.I've tried out 4 AV's so far and I'm impressed with the ride of these compared to my Envoy which has the rear air suspension. The only thing that's holding me back on an AV is the hit I'm going to take on the gas mileage going back to a full size rig.If I thought it wouldn't be much difference I'd go for the AV and gain some more features and room. And I've read there's not much difference in mpg between the 3:73 and 4:10 and it's somewhat hilly around here so I thought the lower gears would help.

If you like the Envoy, why not get the new Envoy XUV with the midgate and retractable rear roof? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Av, but if the XUV had been out when I bought the Av I'd probably have that in my driveway instead.

It would depend on what you would use your new Envoy for. An AV is versatile you can load all kinds of cargo in the bed, you can purchase a shell to enclose the bed, and the towing power would be better than an Envoy, in my opinion. (y)

Tdybr27...I just can't stand the look of the extended Envoy's,the XUV is a great idea but the extra length on the Envoy just doesn't look right. This time of year my mileage sucks anyway, around town 11 to 13 and highway 17 to 18.I'm just thinking the AV would be even worse here in the winter.I'm also concerned about water leaks,I looked at a demo the other day that had just came out of there car wash,I pulled the rear seats forward and saw water at the base of the midgate on the driver side. :-[

If you are into GMC, you might take a Yukon for a drive. Our local GMC dealer is crap, so we choose to go Chevy.

We bought a 2004 Tahoe LT (with every option) two weeks ago and could not be happier.

Good luck in your choice.
