I'm in San Carlos. I haven't seen ANYONE else on the boards that lives in SWFL have you ?? My work schedule keeps me very busy, but I'm up for a GTG.

I'll be heading that a way on May21st for my daughters HS Graduation in Pt. Charlotte. I'll let you in on more details as it gets closer...
 
I see a few AV's around town... and of course we are all rubbernecking each other....lol.... be nice if we could get a few for a GTG.... also - I need nerf bars, window tinting, ventshades.... any reccomendations in the area??

Well hey I am glad it has started.. I will be there in July 2004 ( I hope)
and I know of a few that have posted before. so get it going and I will help when I get there.

I have been the area coord for El Paso Tx for 2 years and have done a few GTG here and a few members. But I do not speak Spanish so I can not talk to everyone.

But I will be having fun soon.

I have my Amber DRL's with a white Av look for it around July 29th.

Talk to a chevy dealer and see if they will not support us with a meeting place and stuff. I have done that here and Mods can be done inside if it is raining.

I can do a few mods now that I have done them on mine. ( thanks WesTexAy) but the cheep ones are easy to do.

I've done mods on Harleys for 30 years, but this is my first AV - not as familiar with this as i am with bikes....

I think I got my Ambers at Pep Boys across from Sam's/Page Field on US41. My Nerf Bars I got thru Ebay, but there's a 4WD place just between Colonial and Winkler Ave Ext on the East side of Fowler... their prices are a little high, but they do good work. Just behind them in the Plaza is Ft Myers Window Tinting... best I've found in the area. There's also a 4wd place out on Palm Beach (Hwy 80) just before Marsh Ave I think.


The local Chevy Dealers are Bill Branch in Fort Myers (great service dept... ask for Doug Peavey) and Roger Dean in Cape Coral (great sales).

Bill Branch Chevrolet is where i bought my AV- Bob Bell was the salesman, and actually was one of the most fun times i've ever had buying a vehicle....

Don't know why Harley went with Ford - they forget to ask my opinion during their decision making process, but one thing i would bet on - it had something to do with $$$$$$.

things have sure changed in the last 30 years at Harley Davidson :E:

Might have to count me out of the Ft Myers and cape group. The wife and I are not together right now she left me and the kids last week and is some where down there now. and she does not know who she is or what she wants so I might not be down there.. I am sorry I was looking forward to meeting you all and you never know still might.

By the way.... there are lots of single females around here... and they all want to drive an AV......they just might not know it yet.....hehehehehehe

The wife has called and is talking that she needs us and all and we have talked long about the troubles and she will meet me in PA for the summer. SO it looks like there will be a white Av with amber DRL's in Ft Myers area in AUG as planned. We still have to talk about a few things before I am good with her coming back but her mind has gotten alot better after she left this hell hole called El Paso TX. and I am glad she left because for the last 3.5 years she has done nothing but look at 4 walls and 3 kids. So her mind was messed up bad. not to talk about the boarder here and all. So it looks good count me in on getting a good group going with the 4 or 5 that we have now and getting more.

I have already PMed SWFL on what I did here in El Paso to get members But hey I can not speak Spanish at all so it was hard. but I did have a few GTG that worked well and the ones I did at the dealership went well with people looking to buy a truck and seeing ours and letting them and the kids sit in mine with the TVs and all they drove off in a nice avalanche. SO it does work and let me tell you I NEVER had a bad day at the dealership after all this.. I would take the truck in for oil changes and work to be done and I had great work done and they were all nice to me. So it does work to do nice things for the dealership.

Again It does look like I will be there, and I have friends looking for a house fo rmy family in North Ft Myers, the Cape, or Lehigh.

Can not wait to see you all in late July or the first part of AUG.

We can get emails from everyone and then phone numbers if they want to give that up and we all can start getting together and planning stuff to do.

Their are 5 of us and if you think about it this site was started by 1 person and now we are close to 10,000 members. in just over 2 years. SO that said we can get alot more from that area and make the SOUTHWEST FLORIDA chapter big and better. Some folks just do not want to do this and that is fine but there are some out there that just do not know abou tthis site and we can get them I know we can.

By the way, HOMACK- did you do your own locking tailgate mod?? ever get over this way?? hehehehehehe :cool: :love:
 
OK.... for all interested.... I have a meeting this morning to discuss dealership participation here in SW Florida...

I know they are going to ask how many of the members are interested in organizing...

I'm hoping they'll agree to brochures in every glove box... i'll let everyone know how it turns out when i get back.. (y)
 
Count me in... I've got a hectic two or three weeks coming up, but let me know when/where there's a GTG and I'll try to swing by for a few :) Way to go SWFLA1... I hope the dealers are as excited to come on board as I am !!! :)
