Caravaning to Savannah

Maybe we could post-it like a bus schedule with city estimated arrival times/locations and maybe a roster with who to expect to join the caravan at which point. Or maybe like a sign-up sheet.......
This is all I could come up with.

I offered to the other peeps to put up a caravan schedule in the 1st post of this thread and hadn't heard anything back. I know it's being worked on so once people decide on things maybe I can modify my post to show some sort of schedule.

Actually, I need to know when the group coming in from Memphis and Nashville will be hitting Chattanooga. That will allow me to know about when we'll get to the Atlanta or Macon area.

Well, for me I will be passing through Atlanta Friday morning (current plans). I'm getting the impression that Ed's group starting in TX is going to be coming through Atlanta on Thursday. However, there may be more coming later.

I think it is appropriate for Kim to put together a schedule now >:D

I am leaving Dallas Ft Worth around 7am on Oct 9th should make it at least as far as Montgomery Ala. unless I stop for a few hours and nap at a truck stop or Rest Area. I will be going str8 out I-20
If I end up alone i will have Harry Potter #4 on CD to keep me occupied for the 15+ hour drive.

We'll I'm not sure where in Texas I will be leaving from Thursday morning, but I do plan on stopping in Montgomery, AL for the night.

Does anybody know of a rest stop area we could meet up where I 96 and I 16 meet? Looks like we will all be hitting there around 11:30am Friday. I had thought Danville, but a rest area would be better right off the interstate.

There is a east bound I-16 rest stop outside Macon near mile marker 45.
Seems like the Danville exit is around near mile marker 30.

Dublin exit (US319/441) near mile marker 50 has gas & goodies.

BTW.....If the 40' container trucks are blowing by you on I-16 then, as you know, their trying to meet the last minute dead line for a container ship.

I know you know but our AV friends that have yet to see a LARGE container ship in person will have their eyes full. But a HUGE fully loaded 900' container ship is a must see for everybody attending STI-GTG.

I'm out of Melbourne so I-95 is pretty much a staright shot up through JAX into GA.

I planned on running sometime that day in case anyone is intersted email me or let me know

My trip starts from Jacksonville Friday afternoon. (Time depends on when my date can sneek out of work.

Spoke with several members about grabbing something to eat at Hooters in Mandarin that afternoon. (Nearest Hooters to I 95 in Jax. Baymedows exit) This Hooters has much more character then St. Auggie or Daytona.

I would like to make some plans for that in the next few days if possible. If I cant join the caravan due to your schedules I would luv to grab something to eat before you start your last leg of the trip.

Anyone coming through on Thursday wanting to stop and take a rest or get some food can feel free to contact me. Hooters would be a nice stop that night also. There will be a lot going on there that night.

I can meet anyone interested at the Baymedow exit and take point from there.

Sounds great. Do you have a ball park Idea of what time you would be in the Jax area?

Reason I ask is because my date was supposed to have Friday off. Now, with the promotion she does not know what time she will be able to depart. I will be finished with work around 10 or 11 in the morn.

If I cant join you for the trip up, I will still be able to grab some food with you and yours.

Im talking about the one in Mandarin on the ST Johns River. (actually on an inlet) Easy enough to find. Baymedows Rd exit from I 95 then left and it dead ends at Hooters on the corner of Baymedows and San Jose.

The one downtown is at a place called the landing on the St Johns. Either way I can get us there. I would recommend the San Jose location.

As soon as you can talk with your partner let me know.
Even though it may be lunch hour I will probably be able to get us a table or so reserved if the group is large.

Still waiting to hear from work on weather I can take the whole day off on Friday (don?t that :D:

Meeting earlier on Friday to get up to JAX by 12 or 1 sounds good. We can still meet in Daytona or somewhere along I-4.

Will have a better idea about my schedule for the 10th hopefully in a couple of days. I?ll either make another post or send you an E-mail.

Well there is a group from Texas that is coming throuhg Louisiana and picking up Mud and we should be coming into Jacksonville sometime Friday between 9 and 11 AM It may be early to stop at Hooters and then agian maybe not - we would love to hook up with some of the Florida crew to head into Tybee. Let me know your plans and we can exchange cell numbers and work out the details - should be at least 8 of us coming your way.

I would recommend strongly that Earthquake does not hit Atlanta at 8-9am . You will then have the great experience of rush hour traffic from hell! All you will do is sit in traffic and burn gas!!! SO do the southern thing and stop and have breakfest at a cracker barrel!! The traffic will drive you nuts!! I am getting my map out tommorow and will choose an exit just south of 575 on 75, Mjoy and myself will meet you there!! Not sure which one yet! Eartquake do you still have my cell phone number

404.307.3958 So call me at some point and we can firm this thing up!! We should paln to meet at 10:15am, still plenty enough time to get down ot STI!! Trust me we will make up time from Macon to Sav!

Give me a yell if you want my cell number. If you come through before the south Florida bubba's then we can find another spot for you to eat along the way. Hoots opens around 10 if you are still into it. Bring your Hoots passports from your area if you want to get them stamped.

To bad we couldn't workout a cross country hooters stamp, poker run. :6:

They still have passports to give away at the franchise stores.

Its looking like Im not getting out of Jax until 2 or 3 so I can set up anything needed when everyone comes through.

Good point Robert. If we can avoid Atlanta all together, I wouldn't be opposed. Go ahead and pick an exit, post when you decide and we'll talk.
