It works like a "black box" for the car. ?Keeps track of alot of info on how the car is driven and how the engine is running.
I use to be a dealer for Davis Instruments and they have a pretty hefty markup on their products. ?Shop around and you should be able to find a nice discount. ?You should be able to see the CarChip under $100.
They have another product called DriveRight that provides a real time display of trip info. ?It sells for about $350 and works like a big brother to make sure you are driving correctly. ?It calculates a "Driver Performance Score," based on the number of times acceleration and deceleration limits were exceeded and the amount of time spent driving over the unit's set speed limit.
