I'm in for the group buy.

Who is getting this together?
I have not seen any takers yet. If not, I will be happy to contact them and set it up.

Ahhnuld,

Thanks for offering to set up a GP. It should fill fast.
We have three dogs so can't wait to put this baby in.

Mine arrived today and I put it right in. Perfect fit. Storing in the windows storage is cool. I like the non-slip finish. I am having the seatbacks done for sure. They told me it was $89 for the seatbacks and that included return shipping.

We received a call from a gentleman in Canada inquiring about shipping a unit to him. He didn't leave a name or number and ask we make this posting.

Yes, we can ship to Canada. Our best guess is the additional shipping fee would be approx. $12-$15 US depending on where the unit is shipped.

If anyone has information on Canadian Duty fees, please give us some insight on them.

The individual requesting this information can contact us outside of this Forum by email at :

If you ship USPS there's no duty/tax to the shipper. All you'll need to do is fill out PS form#2976-A (Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note) and attach it to the package.

That was me :D
I thought this way would save you the cost of long distance calls trying to track me down. And it worked. Also it will get to other potential customers up here.

What the man said in the post just before this is very true. It is much more cost effective for both the shipper and receiver if you can send your item US post instead of courier.
So, what I wanted to find out was the price of the unit, the best guess on shipping costs, and if you would be willing to use US post. I understand that all numbers are in US dollars

I was surfing this site as a guest a couple of weeks ago & noticed the Cargo Deck comments. I decided to check it out as I'm tired of having to haul my Golden Retriever (80 lbs+) around on my leather seats. I went ahead & ordered one and it got here yesterday, just in time to go to the vet. What a sweet set-up! Martha sure enjoyed having some room to spread out and being on a level surface, sure made her more comfortable.

Just wanted to tell you guys thanks for turning me on to a great solution for my back seat.! P.S. The groceries are sure alot easier to deal with on the Cargo Deck now, too :D :D

Ahhnuld,

Were you able to contact them about the group buy?

Hey all,
I emailed Jackalanche about getting this together, he suggested I send a PM to the Chief, since he is concerned about how CAFCNA is represented.
:rolleyes:Sooooooooooooooo........ I still have not heard from the Chief. Its a simple task, but I have to follow protocol, since I'm not the big cheese. Everyone please bear with me, I want to get this done as much as everyone else. I will send another email and a PM to the Chief again.

GREAT! Thanks for following up.
Please let us know as soon as you hear something.

I'm in on the group buy if it comes around. This is something that I had thought about when I first got the Av. Glad someone came up with it.

Where do you stow this baby when you have the rear window stowed in the midgate but the back seats are up (ie. open air with passengers)?

I'll also be keeping an eye out for the group buy to go through. It is not a must have, but would be nice, now to figure out how to move the Bazooka out a little so the seat will lay perfectly flat?????????

Color me "Red", but wouldn't it be just as easy to trace the window, buy 3/8 plywood, cut it out and have a company Rhino line it? Would that work as well, or am I missing how it mounts in place? Even if you had to figure out a mounting system, would that be a cheaper route to go? ???

There product accommodates the seat hinges that would interfere with a flat board. They created the indentations required.

Aaaahhhh, I see! Let me go outside and take a look see at the AV setup next time before I open my mouth. I'll be back!!!!

After taking another look at the setup, I still think plywood cut to fit using the window as a template would work. Notched out to fit to the ledge of the plastic on the midgate, and shimmed up on that end as well. The expensive part would be the Rhino Linning. I called and explained what I was wanting to do, and they said between $40 and $50 for enveloping that piece in lining. Still, $75 to $100 is alot cheaper and I might just tackle this project to fill in my spare time!! ;D ;D

Wow, you have spare time? How about shipping some of it to me! >:D

If you are willing to invest your own time for engineering and construction, and you have the tools, you can often make something yourself for less than it takes to buy it. However, you need to consider how much time you will spend doing it, and what your time is worth. Still, the fun of doing it yourself helps make up for that. Even if I can buy it cheaper, I will sometimes still make stuff myself, just becuase I enjoy doing it.

However, if you don't have the time, or you don't have the tools or knowledge to use them, it sure is nice to be able to buy something ready-made! (y)

What he said ;)
I was thinking about this this morning. At one time I built furniture items in my spare time. I had the time, the materials and access to the tolls. Today, the materials are almost impossible to find at a reasonable price where I live, have no access to the more specialized tools required, and time, well forget it
With the lack of time instead of making furniture I buy it, and if I really go out on a limb I'll put some of that Ikea stuff together.
More and more I look at a job and think, how much time will this take me, and what are the results going to look like. In most cases I'll opt to have someone else do it.
The exception is cleaning my vechiles. I will spend hours, entire days doing that. It is way cheaper than renting couch time at a shrink :2:
That said I would love to get back to making furnitire someday.

(y)Alright everyone!
I spoke with the Chief and have the go ahead for contacting the dealer. I will be calling today to see what arrangements can be made, then follow up with the Chief to post once agreements are made. I will keep you all posted with progress updates.
