I didn't use either. Ford keys, stock springs & shocks. Just got an alignment done after the keys went in. Haven't had any problems since I did it 2 1/2 years ago

besides have the additional power for the beach or tailgate partys, i would like to be able to provide power for my house in case of blackout.

If you're still looking for an ALT, I can recommend a place that builds the 250amp and will powdercoat any color you want. I have a shiny black one.
