Hello All,
For those of you who do not know me, I am Sands611 and live in N E Ohio. Interest has been generated for a GTG at the world renowned Cedar Point on Ohio's Roller Coast (Sandusky, Ohio.
I know there is regional meets, East Cosat Meet and then the gran-daddy of them all, Thrills in the Hills.
I am attending Nationals IF the number of participants comes up (looks flat now?)

So- is there any one interested in a cruise to Cedar Point.
Please let me know- so I can beging the work of planning, events and what ever else we would like to do.
Our boat is docked at CP, and I could work for a group rate? Special parking area-
a shelter in the Marina or the park itself?
Pet care is available for like 7 buck a day for dogs in an airconditioned indoor/outdoor kennel-
Let me know your thoughts.

Sands,

Sign me up, I haven't been to CP For quite a few years.

I'm jealous! Cedar Point is one of the things I miss having moved from Michigan to Texas. Six Flags doesn't hold a candle to Cedar Point when it comes to number and variety of Roller Coasters. Sorry if that offends any Six Flags loyals, but it's the sad truth.

I'm really interested in this. Put me down as a strong probable, but not guaranteed.

It depends partly on the date: All of July, and the first half of August are pretty poor for me. Any other time and I have a good chance of making it.

You know I'm in!

I love this place!

It's still a little better than our new combined Six Flags Park. But I do like the animal shows they have there.

Dates?
Not the boy girl kind either-
but serious talk of WHEN we are looking at doing this?
I know people like to plan, I know there are meets for East Coast, Local stuff and then the National-

Sands,
No problem. DIdn't
know when you were planning your get together...thought it was spring. Let me know how we can help. after March, I should be good as new & better than old. LOL You all must do CP passes too then. We skipped a few years because of finances but have them this year. My brother in law has a new 32foot boat at what use to be Sweetwater Marina near East Harbor. We will be doing some camping at the Point this year & East Harbor.
Need another grill, I have some GREAT tables for picnics. Want to help with food too. We'll have to all get together for some planning, you call the shots.

JUne is probably good for us. We always have baseball, traveling but the tournament in NY is in Early Aug.

Hey, don't laugh, we always found Memorial day a GREAT day to go. No crowds, all at the parades.
Traz

WOW My site is bad...or I just can't type. That was suppose to be Sweet Water Marina. LOL
Traz ;D

Traz,
Our family has a 32 foot SeaRay at CP Marina. I spent every summer there as a kid growing up.
Literally at the parks back door.
We too have passes and it is a great area.
Parking for the AV's will be in the secured Marina parking lot- easy acces in and out of the park ( I will arrange this as we confirm things)

Sounds GREAT!!! Definitely better for parking.
Now if I keep doing this I caan boost my posts.
Headed to my favorite spot on the couch. Night all.

Would love to come but I'm not sure how good June would work for us. We already have 2 GTG's planned that month.
6th,7th,and 8th is the East Coast Regional in Pigeon Forge TN
21st we were talking about a GTG in OH Amish Country....is this one still ago for this date. ???

This is just may 2 cents but it might be something to keep in mind.

Mrs.WVAV

I agree, June might be too busy. I was thinking that after Labor Day might be a good idea. (If everyone can stand to wait that long?) Cooler weather, lesser crowds. Do they offer a discount for weekends after Labor Day? Just my 2 cents worth!

Mrs Bubba :B:

I'm interested. We go at least once every year. I like the idea of shelter in the marina. A nice place to meet in morning, for lunch, or in inclimate weather conditions. Shelter in the park isn't as appealing or comfortable, especially in poor weather. As for dates, just avoid June 6-8 and any holidays and I should be free. How about the possibility of Hotel accomadations for those who are interested. This way anyone who stays overnight could stay at the same place. We usually make this a one day trip, but if it's multi-purpose(rides and AV meet) it might be nice to wait till the next day to drive home.

Well, you just need to come out for our GTG.
Go to, www.cedarpoint.com
CP is the worlds best roller coaster park. Serious.
Six Flags and Kings Island are nice and have some cool stuff but the Point is truley the worlds best.
Check it out.
Your in MI and close enough to show up for this one!

I will be getting hotel info here shortly. Willpost for those who would be staying over night

Mrs Bubba, WVAvalanche,
I would like to also wait till L Day too. I do however want to generate more interest in multi state meets.
I am going to see how the response is from other folks and set date accordingly-
Heck, we can do early summer and also a Labor day, end of summer blow out too!

The masses can deceide this ones outcome.
Between Mi and NEO folks, throw in the Indiana and maybe a few Il people- we could do good?

Bye

Wanted to bring this back to the front page.

Is this a week-end or week day thing? My kids would never forgive us if it was a weekday & after labor day. they are back in school. :8:
In fact Jacob has the 1st week Aug. baseball tournaments in NY & then football practice is probably everyday starting as soon as we are back. :6:

I vote earlier & then something again later. :B:Hate to wait all the way to Labor day for this. I am worse than a kid, & we will go alot because we have passes. I just really enjoy getting together with all of you. ;D After March when my surgery is over, I am going to be anxiously awaiting for any chance to celebrate.
Traz

I was thinking a weekend after Labor Day. We couldn't do it during the week because of school then. As for the summer, I think we would have to do it on a weekend also....have to make money somehow to pay for the AV!!

Mrs Bubba :B:

I suppose the dummy that first mentioned this should climb on board huh?

I'm planning to go to Thrills in the Hills and I have the St. Joseph Venetian Festival that I have to work on until Friday when I leave for S. D. That kind of kills July. I think Traz had a good idea when she mentioned Memorial Day weekend and maybe another one a week or so after Labor Day. I'm game!

If you need me to come a day early to help set things up or whatever let me know..
