Hey all! I'm rounding up some info and photos of gear reported all over the web and emailed to me today.
JL:
Jl's got new speakers, just as they claimed, and have update their site with some info. Here's the new ZR series components.......
This is what I'm guessing is the new genereation of the W0 shallow depth sub or a new W1V2, but I suppose we'll have to wait until tommorrow or so to find out for sure, but I'd put money on it being a W1.V2. I certainly hope that if it's not a W0 that one gets unveiled and that it lives up to the rep the former W0's had. The 8W0 is much loved as a great free-air midbass that sounds great in large doors like the Av's..........
Alpine:
They did make a black unit, and with what appears to be an old fashioned trim ring nonetheless.........
Multiple color options are availble on the 9831, 9833 and 9835. Their site is update today with info on all new models.
More of the Mini:
Kicker:
Their site has been updated with info as well if your a Kicker fan. The L7 appears to be new for 04 and sure to stir up the square-sub lovers of our group with its new cosmetics...........
I haven't heard whether or not the mysterious, supposedly "over-the-top" SS series of speakers graced Kicker's booth for their intro. I'd assume they'd be done with them since it's been over a year that I heard of their coming.
They have some new amps out. My mom always told me that if I couldn't say something nice just to keep my mouth shut, so I'll just post the photo and keep comments to myself......
Rockford:
Their site has their newest info.......new amps (as usual, new heatsinks and even more acronyms for a new year), new speakers and better cosmetics.
I like the amps, they remind me a bit of the old Power 1000/650 from 10 years ago:
For the footprint those things occupy, they had better be putting out 4 digits rms......
Phoenix Gold:
PG has introduced its Xenon ( naming amps/speakers after a gas?) line, with amps stuck in between the lower end Tantrums and high end Titaniums. Supposedly they are nearly impossible to shut down due to thermal circuits that cut power to reduce operating temperatures, and look good as well:
In the morning I'll see if I can round up some more info for you all.
