I hear that Kent. Let's get this club back up and running. Chris where is the planning thread ? Let's get some great things going this upcoming year. Did anyone here see the 8444 running ? Mark ? The Pearl was chasing it all the way to Rock Springs. It was awesome. He even went off roading lol

I am still here. I am so sorry for not getting that thread up yet. I have been getting my butt kicked at work. working almost 80 hours a week. I will get on it today.

I did see it on the 26th. Lynette and I, her sister and family and my brother-in-law and kids went track side in Bountiful and saw it. Then we went to the station in Ogden and watched them service it. What a beautiful locomotive!

Isn't it Mark ? Man watching it running up the canyon was breath taking. What a traffic jam it caused lol. I got ahead of them the ran beside it. Stopped in Evanston station and watched it getting serviced then headed out with it to Granger. Lost it for awhile but was able to go off road and get right next to the tracks as it roared by. What a treat. What a sound hearing it's whistle in the morning at the house and grabbing the camera and running to go chase it.

Never even heard of it,  Too bad.  Jeeze are we not supposed to go to see the lights then supper at Village inn?????  (y)

Yes I was waiting to see a thread about this one and where to meet up. Ok then I see it is scrapped. Sad. Well I will put my input in on the other one soon.

Sorry I have been a little unavailable lately.
I have had some serious medical issues in my family.
We have spent a lot of time at the hospital.
I did post the GTG and I am sorry it is a week late.
I am trying. Hope you will all forgive me and allow me this slip.
I promise to get back on the ball.

My Uncle has been in the Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital since Saturday.   He has had a cancerous tumer taken off with his Pancreas, His stomac was 1/2 way up in his chest,  Collapsed part of his lung  and a few other issues......Not a good Christmas festive mood....Also my Avalanche died this morning and is being towed to my Mechanic.   :E:

I hope everyone had a good christmas and is planning a fun new year! Don't forget to put your ideas into the planning thread.

No. We are actually hosting nationals this year. I am putting together a meeting to get everything finalized. Check out the nationals thread

Hey Guys, It's been awhile since I've been here.  (SO SORRY) :beating: How's everyone doing?  I still have my AV, but she's gettin' tired, (stilll faithful as ever though).  I see that SLC is hosting Nationals, way cool.  I will be watching for the next gtg. It's been great reading the threads again.  See y'all soon.

I went back to work too. Not going to have a ton of time for the club. Life comes first. Life here isn't all the great right now so am addressing my personal life first and foremost. At this point with a new job don't know that I will be making the nationals if I work those days. As I say personal life comes first. Honestly I have been considering giving up the Pearl for a more gas friendly vehicle. I have not yet given it 100% but it is on my mind.

Hey everyone,

I don't know a good way to do this so I will just get to the point. I have decided to leave the club. From where I stand the Utah Chapter is dead and the CAFCNA is pretty much the same. As you all know I lost much of my enthusiasm for the club a couple of years ago. We lost participation from most of our local members and as CC at the time I felt that the blame for this fell on my shoulders and I stepped down. I now feel that it is best that I stop calling myself a member as I haven't contributed one bit to the club in over a year. I have been asked to take on some tasks and I haven't completed them due to my lack of enthusiasm for the club and the lack of activity within the club. I personally feel bad about that and therefore feel that it is best to leave if I am not going to participate.

I will be honest, the last straw for me was what occurred at the end of our nationals planning GTG. I simply don't need the drama that Joyce has brought to the club in the past and I felt that what was said at the end of that GTG was simply ridiculous. Phantom members that won't post on the forum and won't come to GTG's are not CAFCNA members. Simply put, the club consists of the forum and members attending GTG's. If you don't do any of these things you are not a member. Club leadership is not going to plan GTG's and events around members that basically don't exist. Sorry... the truth can hurt but I feel that I need to be honest and say that.

I hate club drama and I assure you I am not attempting to create more. I would have simply disappeared from the club and forum except that I have some good friends here. You guys know who you are and I miss hanging out with you. I truly hope that we can get together soon and hang out like we used to before the declining membership took the fun out of GTG's. It seems that we all forgot how much fun we have when we get together. It seems that we all became frustrated when we didn't have a few new members join us at one of our GTG's when really it was our core group that always had the most fun. I hope you all still consider me a friend because I certainly consider all of you very close friends. You have my number, please feel free to call it if you want to hangout. I hope you will still answer if I call you.

Thanks for hearing me out and thanks for the great memories from the clubs good days,

:(
Maybe a break will do you some good and hopefully some time later you'll want to give it another try.
Either way, best wishes to you in the future.

Sorry you feel that way Mark. In a sense you and I are on the same wave length. You are happy with the club as it was and I was left out. As I said I am not going to be participating any longer so you all can have your tight knit group. I did not think asking you to plan some things up Ogdens way was asking too much so that some here could feel like being a part too. Any way if it is dramatic to try to get the club to grow and it threatens a cc ok then forget I said anything. I no longer care. Like I said I am thinking of getting rid of the Pearl for a more fuel friendly car and spend time with hubby for as long as I have him. Utah avs is not my life any more.
I think the world of you guys and have had a great time but do not think I was ever really a part of it. I guess we just rode different streets.
I also found it insulting that I am asked to help with things like getting donations etc when in fact I am a once in awhile member and don't count up here. The club is SLC and I got that in the meeting. You all take care.

Hi.
I am one of the Phantom members Joyce spoke to you about. My name is John and she has been really trying to get my wife Janelle and I to join up along with some friends of ours. I feel bad about this misunderstanding between friends because I did in fact tell her that if something was going on close by we would drop in and see what we thought. I have never just joined anything without checking it out. We had lunch with Joyce and she showed us pictures of things you all have done and I was interested but do not care to have to run 120 miles just to hang out all the time. As I told her if there were things going on up here too it might be fun.
I never got into posting on message boards either sorry. I have read this board and found loads of info here after Joyce gave me the addy . She always spoke with loads of enthusiasm for this club I kid you not ! According to her we would really like the folks here too. I hope by my posting up can resolve this sticky wicket.
Either way I intend to remain friends with Aussie Red , Janelle and I are happy she found us and lol all because of a truck.

I look forward to meeting you.
I have not coordinated any GTG's lately because we are hosting a national GTG here in SLC and it is taking up most of my time.
I would love to have a GTG there in the great north but do not know much about what is up there. If you have any ideas of something fun to do we would love to roll up there to hang out and meet you.
I would also encourage you to come and see us for nationals. You will meet some great people and have a great time. Just click on the banner below for more information.

I'm just wondering if the whole Avalanche trend has died down. Seems like nothings happening, anywhere. Am I wrong? I hope so.

It has but I hope it will pick back up.  Lot's of unwanted bickering needs to be nulled completely and we need to be positive about everything we do and post.
Thanks
