Make sure u stay on top of it don’t prolong it, if there is another dealer close by go there any Chevy dealership can do it.Called my local dealership the other day and set up an appt, however they called to cancel it due to parts availability. The said I will get another letter in the mail when the parts are available.
Yes contact your local dealer they should have the parts only takes about 30 to 40 minsOk so I received a recall in the mail about the passenger side front air bag? Did any one else get the same and they’re saying they can’t fix it
Contact your local dealer if they give you the run around go on NHTSA web site and register your vin #, you can also check on that web site with your vin to see if it is included. As the third owner, would I receive recall info? If not how to I register to be notified from GM if that's even possible.
What year is your Avalanche? Only 2007 and newer are included in the recall.Called my local dealership the other day and set up an appt, however they called to cancel it due to parts availability. The said I will get another letter in the mail when the parts are available.

I'm in northern Virginia and have an early 2007. I got the recall letter around mid-March and took my Avalanche in. It took two appointments, one to do an inspection and validation, after which they ordered the parts. It then took over two weeks for the parts to come in. I only found out the parts were in by calling the parts department. I was able to then schedule the second appointment to have the parts installed.
If you received an airbag recall letter any time after mid-March, parts should be available. The first letter I received was back in July 2016. The second letter came in March 2021. If your dealership is telling you that parts aren't available, you should call 1-800-630-2438 (Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center)
