The 2007 National Chevy Avalanche Get Together has designated the Children's Home Society http://www.chssd.org/ as it's Charity Beneficiary.

The Children's Home Society houses 52 children 4 to 13 years old. The Emergency Foster Home a part of CHS houses 6 children newborn to 17 years old.
That is a total of 58 children that could use a little love. One of the days during the week Nationals attendees will be visiting the Children's Home Society for an Ice Cream Social and meeting the children and staff while displaying their Avalanches.

Even though most of us will not be able to attend, we can show our support by contributing to the CAFCNA Christmas in July program.

Here's the deal, between now and June 16th bring whatever you can to the lunch GTG in your area or PM the nearest CC for an address you can mail a contribution to and we'll get all the contributions
together at the New Smyrna Speedway GTG on June 16th and either send the package with one of the members who is attending or ship via the post office.

I will post the childrens wish list below but am thinking that we would better serve the kids and make it easier to contribute, that we purchase gift cards to Target or one of the other stores listed than to buy, wrap and try to ship a bunch of toys.

I realize most of us have our own charities we support but since this is a very special event, please, consider helping out.

thank you.

there's quite a few gtg's in florida this month......

let's show the kids in the Children's Home Society some? and bring some/any of the items above to your local gtg and it will make it there!

Since there are only two mambers from Florida currently signed up to attend, it might be best to pick up a gift card
so we don't have to burden them with the responsibility of carrying a bunch of toys across the country.
:dunno:

I found out today the gifts will be able to be purchased at any Target store and picked up in Rapid City or you can bring them with you.

We are working on a custom wish list. The list will include specific items as well as items to support The Children's Home Society facility. Each of the children are going to the Rapid City Target to help the staff scan items and create a custom list. All of the details should be available next week.
