Christmas on Main Street, Volant PA, Nov 8 2014

Im assuming I'm meeting the PA crew at IKEA again this year? Cant wait for some doughnuts  :woohoo: :woohoo:

Any decent places to stay out that way, There is no way I'm driving 16+ hrs in one day. Thinking about heading out the day before, then just drive through the night on the return trip.

Just curious, how are the PA cops with nasty blinding lights coming at them in the middle of the night

I know there are hotels out by Grove City Outlet Mall, but I don't know which are good.
The Outlets could give you something to do Friday evening.

Not totally sure what my plan is going to be for Friday, whether I'll be coming from the city or from Seven Fields. If I'm in seven Fields I'll head straight to the castle. If  in the city, IKEA it will be, although I will be leaving IKEA at 9:00 sharp, not 20 after like last year.

I'm not sure where is a great place to stay.
I may be in Seven Fields that Friday (About 40 mins SE of the the Apple Castle). If I am, I'd prob. be up for something on Friday night if you're going to be in the area.

If everything works out I should be there on my way to Maine

Well given that my solution for my rear sagging issue works, I'll look into the hotels and see what works.

GOOD Now I can give you your surprise.. I brought it to Avy Pizza but you weren't there

Curious does I-80 have a lot of hills or is it primarily flat? Its been 8 years since I last drove on it, and at that time the road was only half built.

It's not terribly mountainous, there are a few ups and downs but nothing absurd, i believe the longest uphill stretch, if i remember correctly, would actually be going back home, between Lock Haven and Milton, exits  192 and 210 heading east. its been a while since I've been on 80 west of Bellefonte, but I dont remember it being too bad. I would def. not call any part of 80 in PA flat though. it doesn't flatten out until you cross I-79, about 20 miles east of the Ohio border.

So we can't test out the swaybars. >:D

Got the hockey schedule.  We're out.

There will be plenty more  sorry you can't come! I'll be sure to send you plenty of cheese and doughnut pictures  >:D

It's a good thing I know what Jack's surprise is too cause we aren't gonna be able to make it.  :( I have always read about this GTG and had really hoped this would be the year to join you, but we found out Taney will be working in TN that week and we really need to come up on Friday night to make this early GTG. And his granddaughter has a cheerleading competition that day  too so thats 2 strikes against us coming so it's just not gonna work for us this year. Hope to see you all soon though.  :needhug:

:( We need to get a WV Chapter Eating planned sometime after this GTG before christmas  :B: AND I know how hard it is to know where T-Ray is working and what his schedule will be like. This may be the first year that I go to this GTG and actually bring the Avy, so far I've been in the Subaru and the Cruze

A reminder, I am keeping the second post updated.
If you have any questions, please ask.
We have done this GTG enough that I think you all know the drill.
Still need a decision on if/where we'll do dinner.

I'm okay with Hoss', but another option is Iron Bridge in Mercer.  Closer to Volant than Grove City, but I recall that there was a long wait when we tried to go there a few years ago.  If they take reservations, that would make them viable.  Food was good.  Just throwing it out there.

Rachels roadhouse is only a mile or so from the Iron Bridge and they have a bar room with a lot of tv's that serves just appetizers.  A bigger place with probably a better atmosphere is a bar/restaurant called My Brothers Place, right next to the Grove City Outlets.
