I went to the Sand Sports Expo this weekend, and came across a company that has a pretty interesting product...

They are chroming plastic in various colors. Here's a quad that they chromed. It was on display at the show, and looked pretty cool. I was talking to the owner, and he was saying that he prefered to use new plastic, because if there's grease or a protectant on the plastic, it makes it much tougher to get the chroming to stick.

Here's a link to their website:

JX2 Fabrications

Their website sucks, and they are the 1st ones to admit it. They needed something up quick, and are actually in the process of having a new one built.

BTW... I stole the picture from their site.

I am assumming (and that is a bad thing to do, I know) that these guys are a shop that is linked with the Spray Chrome company. They have a very nice product, and their website is www.spraychrome.com

I'm guessing they are linked to them in some way. It's pretty impressive when you see it live. At the show, I got playing with a piece of thin plastic that they had, and accidentally broke it. I was impressed that it didn't chip or start to peel off.

I'm thnking about getting some pieces on the interior done. The thought to have my cladding done did cross my mind, but I like the color combo I have going on right now >:D

Hmm,

the phone number leads me to believe they are in Phoenix, in the East Valley.

I will have to check them out, and see if they would be able to plate paint the door handles cheaper than I can buy the EXT handles from one of the Chevy dealers.

If anyone has been to their facility, please let us know.

There is a "lot size minimum" and/or a dollar amount for them to do the work. I think that it is at least $100 or something like that.

If you are going to go in there, you might as well have a bunch of things to have done, so it will be cheaper in the long run.

I inquired with Spray Chrome about working with them, and there are two options;
1) Sell the machines, tools, and product to bodyshops
2) Use the products as a business.

There is a minimum investment required, but for someone looking to start a business, I think it could work out great (in the right area of course).

If I remember correctly, they said that they were in Glendale. I didn't talk to them about any pricing, I was more curious about the process. >:D

You know TLwiz... I was thinking the same thng about a small business doing this. I know of a couple of places that I could sell the service to... Or heck just make picture frames.
