CLADDING vs. NO CLADDING

My '03 has Tupperware and I do prefer it.  But I like the WBH too.

I would have selected a different color had I purchased a WBH model.  The cladding breaks up the yellow nicely, IMHO.  :)

  >:D :nopics:

Cladding has its benefits in parking lot to protect against bad door openers peeps and maybe in some trails with low brushes although its though to fix a scratched up piece o clad i assume!
Mine is without and happy to be.

Always wanted one, finally got one.
I love the cladding, w/o it i would feel naked.
BUT,
I been wanting to get after market headlights, can not find any,
They all say not compatible with models with cladding.
Any Ideas?

Thanks

My first post. I will soon post Pictures and specs and the
problems I am already facing. Climate actuators, wink wink

Where is a good place to buy cladding?

Are you thinking of putting cladding on an Avalanche that didn't come with cladding? There is sheet metal and other parts differences between the two. It would be cheapest to look for a used 2002-2006 cladded AV. (They were not offered from 2007 -2013.)
Otherwise if you are asking to replace damaged sections of cladding you will have to buy from dealer or a junkyard.

You could buy a WBH AV and then spray  Line-X on the lower half to look like a cladded AV and give some protection too. (Better than the do it yourself bed liner paint.)

I have cladding and like it cause I dont have to worry about my beater.  (y) What have you guys done to bring the darkness back to it?
on my 2500 Avalanche, I wasted money on gatorback which is a waste of money last about 5-months, then there is bond back to black which lasts a year -2 and a 10th of the price as gatorback. but i had my cladding dipped and it has last for 3 years and still looking new and I am up in Canada so I have a lot of salt and weather beating on it. hope this helps

Love my cladding! But did notice when it rains I get water drip marks all over the place. But with the fusion paint and Surf City Garage's Black Max http://www.surfcitygarage.com/shop/black-max-vinyl-rubber-trim-dressing it cleans it right up. I think the newer AVS with no cladding is nice, but in my personal opinion the clad is what makes the Avalanche :D

:offtopic: over here kind of but my friend got like 15k he says for his first car!?!?! haha so im trying to talk him into getting a avy over a basic Silverado hes like having the same car would be weird I was like then get one without the cladding little does he know when I talk him into it and we go trail I wont care about driving through thick trees :mo: :mo:

Cladding all the way for me. On a side note, for me its not just the cladding but the early models, I have an 03, the truck itself is different than any other truck in the Chevy line-up. Especially the front end. I can look into my rear view and tell an early model cladded with no problem. Now if I look up and see one I have to wait till I can see the sail panels to know what it is. Not knocking the newer model body style at all, they are grat, just not as original as the early years. All the Chevy trucks now look the same in the mirror. All have the same front clip, etc. I dont know, maybe its just me?

I have a WBH but love the cladded ones also. I am trying to find an early cladded one now.

Not just you...I totally agree  (y)

I love how sleek the 07+ Av's look... In my price range.... cladding all the way.. Reminds me of a tough toy I would have played with as a kid!!

i am 110% cladded fan now i use togo either way but im 16 ive been driving all sorts of things since i could reach the pedals however im 16 backed out of the garage and someone was parked behind me so turned a little earlier and hit the brick reall slow but still then knew what i did started cussing ha  :needhug:  got out expecting all there lines down the pain just some scraches on the plastic not good but still way better than in paint for shure i will post a pic next time i get a chance

yea... backed into my parents garage once.... not inside backed right into the door frame  :E: the tonka truck barely got any damage, but boy the metal siding on their garage was another story

oooh someone was in the dog house that night! and it was on my front bumper i plan on making a metal one soon but man it feels like in the last week everytime i turn around theres a new ding or i scratch it  :E: :E: :E: :E: :E:

nope  >:D I used to work with steel siding and gutters... 20 minutes with a drill a hammer and a couple 2x4's and you cant even tell  (y) now they laugh every time i mention "backing into something" since I asked if I could back into the garage right before I did that  (n)
