Cladding

My dealer says that on the 2003 Av dealer order form to the factory, he can order the 2003 with or without the cladding. Can anyone confirm this?

Use the search button, type in 2003. You will find a thread that details the changes for 2003. Cladding is suppposed to become an option at mid year. Don't know if you would be able to order one without right away, and from my point of view, I'm not sure you would want to. Myself, I would want to see one naked before I ordered one.

I picked up a 2002 last week. I really wanted to option it without cladding or with painted cladding. Apparently, this will not be an option for 2003...so I decided to pickup a 2002 at a nice price.

GM was misquoted somewhere along the line. The cladding for all 2003s will be a darker, deeper gray. (I have a picture from GM.) Information I was given indicates this will be the only cladding option for 2003. (Perhaps the Cadillac guys made a stink?)

Remember folks - you heard it here FIRST that the cladding was still on the 2003 - even as Vice Chair Lutz told the press it was coming off.

I read the latest GM press release on the 2003 Av posted here and it states the 2003 cladding is darker, but it says nothing about whether you can order the 2003 less cladding. My dealer continues to insist that he has a 2003 Chevy Av order form that allows him to order the 2003 with or without cladding on his initial 2003 stock order.

aking - I have the dealer order info from a nameless club member - it was faxed to me in all it's glory. No where on that paperwork can you delete the cladding...

I have seen the ordering checklist too and it is not listed.
