Claddless Av Order Date

GUEST
My Chevy dealer says he can begin ordering claddless Av's on Nov. 18 for delivery in January.

Any word as to what the price difference will be?

Also there seems to be some different info on what else won't be part of the cladless option. Brochure says the hard bed cover won't come with the WBH. Website says it will be standard...

Alan, what I understand is the hard bed cover is standard with or without the WBH option. HOWEVER if you get the WBH option you can opt to delete the hard cover and get the soft cover, something no longer available with an Avalanche that has the body hardware. So the option of a soft cover is only available as an option with the WBH option selected on 2003 1500 series Avalanches.

Hope this helps!

THis may be slightly off topic, but does anyone own or have pictures of a soft top Av? I haven't seen one that I recall. I'm guessing that it's similar to a tonneau cover on a regular pickup.

Thanks in advance.

Jake

I don't have a pic, but I saw one going down the highway the other day and the soft top was all blown up from the wind, and I thought...........why would you get the soft top? ;D

Has anyone seen any more pictures of the cladless Av? The only one available seems to be the red one off of the Chevy website. Sure would like to know what it looks like in black.

Find yourself a copy of the 2003 Avalanche product brochure. In the back is a cd-rom. Go to the wbh section, and you will find the color selector, just like the one on Chev's website, except it uses the claddingless version. I tried, but I could not find a way to copy it to my hard drive and post it for you.

Thanks, Steelheadchaser. I ordered the brochure from chevy, haven't received it yet. I guess I can take my lazy self down to the dealer and ask for one.

edmunds.com now has some new options listed for the Av  Unfortunately, as of early this morning, no prices are listed for them -
(black assist steps, WBH, ground effects, etc.)

The cover looks blown up from the wind but it is not. There are two cross bars in the bed that arc up a bit to keep the cover on snug.

Went down to the dealer, got the CD-rom, think I'm going to go with the dark metallic gray, or the black. Both look great.

Great choices KBAvalanche...both look great with the new darker cladding.....and welcome to the greatest show on earth.... :B:

NJAV- I don't think the new cladding will be a concern, because if I read things right, kbavalanche will be getting a new claddingless Av.

The Dark Gray or Black are best at masking the ugly new black plastic moldings, door handles, mirrors, and bumper inserts though....but if that's what you like, more power to you.

Hey y'al....anyone in Detroit this weekend??? I have a big surprise if you are interested...The claddless Av w/ Mplates is running around and I might know where to find the Silver beast!!! Email me if interested.

see ya
Rick

Why don't you see if you can do some scouting and see if you can snap some pics to share? That'd be cool. You say 'Silver'...not LPM?
Interesting.

C'mon now, Beach, ugly is in the eye of the beholder. Realize that I'm looking at the "naked" Av because I can't quite get accustomed to the cladding on the original, and I think it will make more sense.
