I know here most of you use Zaino stuff a lot, just like the 300M fanatics do. I've seen the results and was impressed but didn't want to spend that much money or time, so I went on an internet search for the best stuff last week. Here's what I ended up with:

From ProperAutoCare.com
-Klasse All-in-One Polish & Sealant (imported from Germany and $23 for a 16oz. bottle)
-Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner
-Eagle One 20/20 Glass Cleaner
-Eimann Fabrik Tire Dressing/Spray

From Wal*Mart
-STP Son of a Gun Plastic & Rubber Protectant
-Genuine Sheepskin Wash Mit
-Turtle Wax Water Blade (same as Cal. Water Blade but 1/3 the price)
-The Absorber
-A cheap sponge for wheel wells, tires, etc.

I use 3 buckets to wash the Av. too, one for the wheels, one for the cladding, and one for the paint. I couldn't believe how easy washing this big monster was with the cladding! Some think it looks cheap or ugly, but they must have never washed a car with it!

Oh yeah, I had planned on getting the 303 Protectant for the cladding, but got a huge bottle of the STP spray for about $4. Anyone else use it?

Properautocare AKA Classic Motoring Accessories is a great place to shop.

I feel the STP is greasy and kinda attracts dust. I use it in the fender wells only.

FOr washing the paint and cladding use two buckets. one with water for rinsing the wash mitt and the other for soap solution. Start from the top and work your way down. Do the cladding last.

KLasse is good stuff but I suggest you also get the Sealant Glaze from them for great long lasting protection. Put about 3-4 layers of the Glaze on and just admire your work.

Hey Beach . . .

You and I think alike on this - we want to do a reasonable job of keeping our vehicles looking nice, but stop a bit short of the hard core detailers in terms of expense and time.

I've had good results with Meguiar's products for general care, but have come to believe that 303 is a better choice than most for the cladding - read some other threads on this board for details.

I've used Armor-All in the past - looks nice, but collects dust, and must be reapplied frequently. Also it's not supposed to be the best for the plastics over the long haul. Don't know about the STP Protectant - anyone else with experience using this?

I love Zaino for my Dodge Viper (I use both), but Dri-Wash N' Guard is the only thing that I use on my Black AV. Goes on right over the dirt. So painless, it's scary. If you have never tried, you will never know. Fantastic product!!!

Check it out here, one of many, many websites---->http://www.dri-wash.com

Cheers,
Justyn~

I just did the Zaino application.. 1 Dawn to remove old wax. 2. Zaino Clay Bar. 3. Re wash with Zaino car wash. 4. Zaino Polish Lok- pre cleaner 5. Zaino car polish. 6. Zaino Ultra clean.
The AV looks fantastic,,although it looks like a pain I was able to do the above process in about 4 to 5 hrs.
My AV is Summit White. This was the first time I have used this product.

I use the Zaino Shampoo, with the Klasse all-in-one, and the sealant. I have used this combination for a number of years. I have never liked the Zaino max. too many products, and the results don't look as good (imho).

I also use the Zaino tire cleaner most of the time.

For those of you using Dri Wash n' guard, do you use it on the cladding or just the paint? If you don't use it on the cladding what do you use?
Thanks
Fred

Hi, Fred. I use it only on the paint itself. It leaves some residue (buffs off easily though) if it gets on the cladding. Have you used it yourself? If so, how do you like it? Personally, I can't believe the results, and how effortless it is.

Take care,
Justyn~

Justyn,

No, I haven't used it yet, I will order it this weekend. Are you a distributor?

Hi, Fred. No, I'm sorry, I'm not a distributor (though I wish I was!). But, I would recommend purchasing some from eBay. This stuff is very expensive ($80.00 for 64oz.), and can be had for a fraction of that on eBay, if available. Currently, there are quite a few up for sale on there. :)

Let me know what your impressions are...

I just won an eBay auction for 32 oz, hopefully it will be here by next weekend and I can give it a shot.

If it works as great as everyone here says maybe I should become a distributor and help sponsor this site. I need to test it first myself.

Superb, Fred! Definitely the place to buy it. I wish I would have checked before purchasing my 64 oz. bottle. Also, I don't see that many people on here extolling the wonders of this product. Most seem to be in the "Zaino haze," as I was. I still use both, but find this to be much, much easier, and producing the same, if not better, results.

Take care,
J~

I have a problem in applying ANY polish, quick detailer, etc. to a car that has not been thoroughly washed.I can just envision all the grit doing a job on the paint.

How does this product (Dri wash) keep from scratching? If I have to wash the truck first,Zaino then seems like a better alternative.Thoughts??

I prefer to use a lot of water and a good wash mitt with lots of soap to clean my paint. Makes me feel better and I am less worried about getting the swirlies.

Many people are quite sceptical about doing this, and so was I! I was one of the first to start using the "quick detailer" many years ago when it first came out. Since then, I can't even count the number of bottles I have used. Like the quick detailer, Dri Wash N' Guard has lubricants, as well as many other ingredients that keep it from scratching. In all honesty, I have used Dri Wash on my black AV for months now, and I have no swirls or scratches from it, believe it or not. Most swirls and scratches are derived from washing!!

J~
