I cannot get my obd 2 scanner or any other code reader to even come on register when I connect it to my 2002 Avalanche Z71 the person that had it before me has done a bunch of Jerry rigging and has a bunch of wires and toggles and sit underneath the dash some reason, check engine oil level light keeps coming on and so does my cargo light on the dash now I recently did oil change so I don't know why that's doing that can somebody please offer some advice on what to start doing . I'm on a budget as well so going to a shop and paying and all that's not really an option at this point in time
