Has anyone had any problems with the magnaflow exhaust tips changing colors. I just put my new system on 2 days ago, and i love it. But last night i was cleaning up my truck, and i noticed the tip had changed to a gold color. Most of it polished out but what is causing the change. And how do i fix it.
Thanks

Magnaflow is the worst where this problem is concerned. What you need to do, is cut off that tip, throw it away, OR, you can sand it down with fine paper, and re-polish it, and then repeat that process every month for the rest of your life.

But really, get a good double wall tip, and you won't have this problem with discoloration caused by heat.

Cheers

I am not trying to disagree with anyone here, but IMHO the Magnaflow tips aren't bad. I bought a double wall SS tip in August of last year, and it still looks like new. Every so often I have to use a little polish on it to get the road tar and junk off of it, but have not seen the tip yellow at all. During the winter up here, I just washed the tip by taking it through the touchless car wash once a week. Again, no yellowing.

I have the double wall, angle-cut Magnaflow tip, and like it alot.

Like I said, double wall in any stainless tip is fine and normally won't yellow. Regarding single wall stainless tips, based on the hundreds that have been installed in my shops, Magnaflow by far turns gold the quickest.

Furthermore, you will pay much more for a Magnaflow tip, which comes from overseas anyway, than a tip that is marketed directly from China, or Guatemala. Trust me, there are only two or three tip manufacturers that make them here anymore, Corsa is one, and look at the price of those tips....outrageous price proud tips.

yea, what muffman says. I had to change out my Magnaflow tips because they turned gold after hauling a heavy trailer. Went with the double wall......No Problem. :) :)
