Can someone please tell me how car/truck/AV salesman are compensated? If I pay invoice does the salesman make money? How much do they make on a deal?

The place where I bought my AV the salesmen were paid salary. They had a minimum quota to sell but it didn't mean extra money only their job

Depends on Dealership.....they have lots of commision plans etc etc....Ask your salesman and see what he says...

yes. dealer gets rebates which makes the vehicle below invoice for them (uncle owns a dealership).

but you will cut in to their commish which isn't as much as many of us think. On a good deal a salesman might make a couple hundred bucks (new vehicle). i am told that they make more on used cars on a goo deal.

I have heard of members talk about the "goo position" for the decal install location.

This is the first time I have heard of a "goo deal".

A friend of mine in sales at a dealership gets to keep 25% of any profit, with a guaranteed minimum commision of $200 per unit on new vehicles.

something someone sent me on the internet that you might want to consider is that you can ask for the fleet manager (you should do this over the phone) once with the fleet manager and the fleet maneger only you can talk to him he works on a salary so if you pay high or low he doesn't care and he doesn't care if you buy 1 or 12 AV give it a shot you have nothing to loose. I think you should try to convince him that you prefer to do buisness with him (butter him up)
