I have a 2002 1500, Z71,Temperture gage is always at about 200,But when i tow it can be higher,is there such a thing as a cooler thermostat to put in & what part # would it be.Thanks

a thermostatic oil cooler will only flow when you need the extra cooling, instead of having your engine run cool when your not towing

If it only happens when towing, your fan clutch (#16 in pic) could be going out.

Why wouldnt you want the engine to run cooler all the time?

I don't believe it's the fan clutch,it has only happen once while towing & it was no big deal,I just want to prevent anything. We mostly tow in cooler weather between 60-80 degrees.
