I have a 2011 Avalanche. For a while now I’ve had an issue with cranking. Battery tested and was good. Alternator checked, good. But can’t figure out what is causing this issue. Deal is at times the engine will not turn over with first attempt. I turn the ignition and it clicks but that is it. Sometimes it cranks on second attempt, other times it takes several attempts. Also there is not always a clock sound either. Once it cranks there are no issues with driving it. Suggestions?

Maybe a bad ignition switch?

My 07 I needed to switch out ignition control switch? Small box inside steering column, I could remove key & engine continued to run & only cut engine when opening drivers side door. Accessories power was crossing in with run power.
I replaced fuel pump for start problems was pump pressure, first start usually didn't fire second turn always fired up. If let power sit on 15seconds or more started first turn as pump built fuel pressure enough.
I recently had to replace my starter but that diagnosis was easy as heard nothing from it when it decided to quit.
