Crazy electrical problems

Have you checked the fuse box on the driver side? It has the power window and lock relays and the wiring for the lights. Check to make sure everything is seated properly. Then check the door connection by removing the panel and using a power tester to see if you are getting power. This will let you know what to look for.
Good luck

 :E: ok so I have an 08 and I'm looking on here and seeing that I'm not the only one with the crazy wires issue.. first , most of my issues stopped after I changed out the neg battery cable and ground... just an FYI .. there was corrosion where it rests at the red support. my story is like everyone elses. Locks , cluster, battery info, stabil atrac, radio.. not the battery . but the dealer had to go by the 28 codes that showed up on the fault reader. since I wasn't willing to pay 2000.00 to fix the start of the 28 codes, at home we started on the grounds.  im now only having an issue with the cruise control only working if the truck is heated up first. and just maybe if its warm , my remote start will work too... again , this sounds like another ground we gotta go change.. good luck yall. welcome any other thoughts.

Wow!! This is an extreme issue. Going through the same issue with my 2010 av. The exception is that I turned mine off and it will start for maybe 5 sec and shut right down, purchased a new alternator... still the same issue. One thing I noticed is that the instrument panel-with the exception of the voltage reader- are inactive when it does start (however briefly). That's a clue i haven't figured out yet.

Question: Does anybody recall whether there was heavy rain just before these issues presented...either rain or driving through significant puddles??

Floods, driving in water and other moisture problems have been discussed in many threads and can lead to many electrical issues. Most threads talk about checking all electrical connections and grounds on the AV and getting rid of corrosion and making solid connections and adding dielectric grease to plug connectors to help prevent future water intrusion.
Some members can't answer the question because they bought their AV used and have no direct knowledge of their AV history and it's exposure to floods or salt spray etc.
As a side note if you want a reply from a poster in an older thread you should hover your courser over a person's screen name to see a drop down bar as to when they were last logged into the site, that will give you an indication if they are still active on this site.
Good luck in solving your problem.

Has anyone had a problem with " their dash cluster go'n nuts? Abs lite? Brake lite com' non ? Check engine lite or service engine lite? Alarm chime going off? At the same time? Drove me crazy!! Found the answer ---" a ground wire" seen a video --black and white " wire" off the back of "left side" of the engine --- hard to get at -- grounds to the back of the of the engine or fire wall?--- easy way to fix--- remove dash cluster - unplug -find " black and white wire on the plug" attach a ground wire " splice'ing black and white plug wire" then to a " good" ground under the dash ----ur " fixed my friend". Problem was a " bad ground at the back of the engine or fire wall that u cannot see!! 2002 avalanche---best of luck to all

Not to jump on an old thread but just if anybody wanted to know I had the same issue and found that in the cluster coming off of my battery before the ignition relay there was a bad wire in the cluster so I spent $18 replace the wire, put the cluster back together and it all worked fine after that. Hopefully from my headache and experience, somebody else can avoid the frustration.

I came out to start my 07 AV and nothing happened. I noticed the dome lights wouldn?t turn on and everything was dead. Checking my 7 month old battery and it was fully charged. While checking the cables coming from the batter the lights came on when I moved the negative cable. The connections to the battery were tight and clean so I knew I had a deeper problem. Taking it to the dealer, they found grounding connections loose and some corroded where they cleaned and tightened and it seemed it solved the problem. But about four hundred miles later, things started to get really crazy. The door locks started to actuate and not all at the same time, front doors then the back and they would this constantly. The instrument cluster and the radio/navigation would briefly go dark and then come back on and then turn off again. When the instruments would come back on I would get a message that the parking assist is off then disappear then it would say the traction control was off also. This is all occurring while doing 70 MPH on the interstate. I pulled off at the next exit and everything went back to normal when I came to a complete stop miles away from any dealer ship. Back on the interstate again and everything seemed normal again until I used my turn signal left or right it didn?t matter or if I pressed the brake pedal then I would lose all power to the instruments and radio/nav but after 3 or 4 seconds later they would come back on. No problems with the locks this time. I finally got the AV in the Chevy dealer but everyone is scratching their heads why I'm losing power. Just wondering if this is a wiring harness problem or what. Any idea or solution would be welcomed.
I just bought a 2007 Chevy Avalanche. Same problems. Driving home, locks went crazy, dash went crazy, 4 or 5 message warnings popped up. Second time it has done this. Dealer fixed it the first time. Bringing it back today.

2 times on my 03 I have had this situation. Battery had a bad cell, in it, but really this relates to when you are trying to start the truck. Most battery testers do not check for the CCA available, but show the correct voltage. If you remove your battery, charge it, then leave it on its own for 2 hours and your charger says its good, but needs charged, its a bad cell.

as to these crazy things while your running, corroded/cut/severed/ cables or wires usually are the cause. Temperature can aid in making these intermittent issues tough to find.

Dealer fixed what the first time? How long ago?
