I was coming back from a graduation ceremony in Anderson Indiana when I saw a strangely colored Avy in a body shop parking lot. It saw at the Busby Body shop on old SR 9 on the south side of Anderson. I had to stop. It was an '04 WBH Avy. The colored was sort of an orange copper. The tool boxes, the covers and what little claddding a WBH has were all painted the same color. The exterior sail panel on the passenger side was missing. I didn't want to leave a tag on the window because it might rain before Monday so I put the brochure in the drop box of the shop. :D

Before you fellow forum dwellers ask for it.. Yes I have a picture.... See the attached.

My son came out to the house today all excited about seeing this custom painted Avalanche. When he said it was copper/orange I walked over to the computer, pulled up your picture and ask "is this what you are talking about"? He said you guys don't miss a thing do you? I got by ther myself today and it is sharp!!

Mox, I may have solved the mystery of that custom color Avalanche! When we drove by and saw that Avalanche I told my son that I had seen that color somewhere. It came to me on Sunday! Do you ever watch ?Trucks? with Stacy David? He did a project truck last year he called Project Copperhead. It was a 1967 short bed Chevy pickup. I believe that is the color of this Avalanche! It was a custom color that Stacy had mixed for the project and it ROCKS! It is called "Copperhead Metallic" from PPG Paints. They now sell that color because the project was so popular! You can look at the COLOR HERE.

Well guess what!?!? We pulled into Applebee's for dinner this evening and there set the Copperhead! We parked right next to it and I tagged it. We went inside and set at a table and right behind me someone said, hi Butch. I looked over and it was a guy that I had worked with and had not seen in five years or so. I had heard that he owned a Avalanche and ask him. THE COPPERHEAD WAS HIS! But it is not Copperhead, it is the new color of orange, I think he said Sunburst Orange. I found out that this is his third Avalanche! I called and invited him to the Central Indiana Modding GTG last September but he did not show up! I found that he does not have a computer, can you imagine that?? Anyway he does have a few custom items added to his Avalanche. He has a Billet grille and of course all the cladding painted. I told him about the sail panal lights and some other things but he was with a rather large group and we left before he did so he didn't get to see them.

It is always nice to solve a mystery. It is strange that someone who has owned three Avy's but not one computer. I guess different strokes for different folks. You can always use the computers at the library. I assume the Anderson public library has computers for the patrons. We do here in the middle of the cornfields..

Good find!!
