I am close to getting the custom exhaust. one question for the experts. Should I expect a local shop to mandrel bend the custom tailpipes? I know most of the aftermarket kits are mandrel bent.
If not, will it cause any flow restrictions?

TIA

Jim

No, shops will use a compression bender and the difference is neglegible. If you think there is a difference, use larger pipe when compression bending. But there simply isn't many severe bends in the AV tailpipes.

thanks for the lesson!
I will post the results of my exhaust upgrade soon. unfortunately, the shop is backed up right now, so it may be a couple of weeks.

thanks again.

I also found a local guy who can't mandrel bend. He suggested using a muffler with a 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets instead of the 2.25" to make up for any restrictions from bending. What do you think Muffman?

I took the fact that the bends are compression bent when I devised the system that I recommend. I would still use the 2 1/4-inch tailpipes.
