Does anyone know of a reputable custom muffler shop in the Lake George area of NY? I want to have Muff Man's FM 70 system with dual 2 1/4 inch outlets out both sides installed. Would be willing to travel an hour or so to have it done right.

There's not a lot of Commerce in the Lake George Region of NY.

South & North would have more options, but it's going to be a drive to get there.

FYI

I actually live in Granville, NY. I am willing to travel as far south as Albany and as far north as Ticonderoga. I will go east to Rutland, VT and west an hour or so if anyone can suggest a good shop. ??? :B:

Try looking in the town of Queensbury,GlensFalls,or South GlensFalls. All are on Rt.9 about 5 or 6 miles south of Lake George Village. Th ere has been a building boom there in recent years.I know they have places like Cole, Midas, etc. but I can't think of any other shops up there. There is a place on lower Broadway Schenectady that 2 guys at work just got their cat back with tips installed. Flowmaster I think. They are happy with the results. :) Cyrus

I can give you a great place in Holley, but thats neat Batavia so it does not help you too much... This place was great and also did JustMove's Exhuast, its called Herring auto. IF you do want to drive that far ( I doubt it) PM me for there information. Good luck finding something closer to yourself. You will love the FM's once on, I got the Super40's.

Muffman,
I am obviously not getting any real strong referrals for a custom shop in my area. I may have to install a cat back system myself. I installed the Gibson SS dual extreme that exited out the sides on my 02. Would have liked it to have a little more rumble. Thought I heard the K&N FIPK more than the exhaust.
I see Borla makes a complete SS cat back system also. The Borla is about $400.00 more though. Gibson claims I will gain 10-15 HP and 30 ft lbs torque and Borla claims 15 HP and 20 ft lbs torque. Does the Borla sound $400.00 better than the Gibson? Is there another SS system I can install myself out there, that you can suggest, that would give my 04 the best overall performance and sound I am looking for? I don't mind spending the extra for the SS to get a lifetime warranty. ??? :E:

If what you are interested in is performance and stainless, just get the Magnaflow system. Many here have it, and like it, and it is lifetime guaranteed. It's my second choice although there is some resonation in the cab, but there is on Gibson and Borla as well.

I still prefer the Flowmaster 70 setup I mentioned for all around driving and lack of resonation in the cab.

I have a few shops down by me in Northern Jersey. I'm about 1/2 hour from the tappen Zee bridge.
