After searching and searching for a unique wheel to put on my 04 soon to be lifted 2500 AV I found these.

The Fleet manager from my dealer told me to check out some wheels he and his son have at their company FLEET AUTO.

I did not know this before but the Hummer H2 wheel fit's the 2500 AV. It is a 17x8 8 lug on 6.5

Fleet Auto has plenty of these new wheels with or without tire combos in both polished and chrome. Andrew of Fleet Auto showed me a customised version by MC2 that they only had 2 sets of. It is a H2 chromed with bead lock trim ring. After seeing it I bought 4 on the spot. I also got 4 new BFG AT tires as a package.

My price out the door was $ 1090.00. I sold him my 2500 stock wheels for $250.00 so I paid $ 840.00......

The AV is getting lifted Dec. 26. Ho Ho Ho !!!

That is my 02 Av which I sold last week. I have not updated any photos yet because my new 04 2500 is kinda naked.

Wow way to go X man, looks sweet, I got my AR magnet rims off of the same company. I got a good deal and mind you I had my car stereo guy buy them off of them so I can have a go to guy in case there was a problem I winded up paying $2,000 for the complete 20' package.

Very clean!

when i read this topic some time ago I have to say that I doubted they would look good on the av.

You have changed my mind completly. That thing looks KILLER.

What kind of lift di dyou put in and what size tires are they? 305? 315?

-Aaron

Yeah, they look kinda different and that is what I was hoping for. I had AR Atlas wheels on my last AV and those were pretty cool too.

These are 17x8.5 the tires are BFG AT 315 70 R17.

The Lift is a Pro Comp 6". I was really surprised that I did not really have to trim the fender wells this time. No rubbing at all.

I had the Pro Comp 6" kit on my 02 Z71 with BFG 315 75 R16's and I had to do a lot of trimming.

The only problem with the H2 wheels is that the center caps won't work on the rear wheels on the AV because the axle sticks out more so then on the H2.

I had the center caps cut out in the middle to go over the axle and I painted the axle caps with the Duplicolor chrome paint.

Not to noticable.

Thanks for all the cheers ;D ;D

I like using GM wheels, I have a set of SST 20'' wheels for my project 69 C/10. Reason is that they tend to be way better quility then after market (for the money).
I know of a few places around that sell take-off wheels real cheap, so getting a pair for my own shouldnt be a problem. I cant get over how good those look, athough there isnt a whole lot of chrome on the av they still make it stand out.

and is a lift needed for the tires? (or can more trimming be done? could a 3'' lift work?)

and check these out

True 8lugs... I though you where full of it at first... I was sure the H2 was a 1/2ton...

I don't think you could stuff the 315 70 17 tires on with a 3 inch lift.

You could go with a smaller size tire like 285 without trimming.

The wheels I got are a custom H2 wheel because the have the beadlock ring.

I thought the H2 was also a 1/2 ton. The towing capacity for the H2 is only 6700 pounds compared to the Av 1500's 7100 lbs. The 2500 Av is rated for 12000 lbs. All vehicles are the 4x4.

The maximum payload is where the 3/4 ton driveline difference comes into play for the H2.

Maximum payload for the 1500 Av is 1318 lbs.
Maximum payload for the 2500 Av is 1915 lbs
Maximum payload for the H2 is 2200 lbs.

Here is the link where I got this info.

GM vehicle comparison

How far are you from Alberta ?

There is a Four Wheel Parts store there. They could tell you what would fit without rubbing.

The H2 wheel size is 17x 8.5

Its kinda of interesting because I know the owner of 4wheel parts/extreme performace, but I was looking for a specific tire. I can already get tires direct from factory/wholesale, but that leaves out any service. I'll look around, but you dont know the biggest tire that can fit on a 17x8.5 rim with only fo*d keys? I bought this truck to tow, and I cant do a big lift.

285 seems pretty good.
BFG All terrain-H2 take offs
LT265/70r/17 with an 8.5'' wide rim is the biggest they have.

BFG doesnt really have what I need, I need it to look pretty agressive, but I will be on the highway a lot.

Goodyear has a Wrangler MT/R
LT275/70R17 will fit on 8.5" wide rim.

That could be too agressive though. Ive never been too happy with the wranglers, too noisy, and rough for highway use.

Wrangler AT/S doesnt look to bad, and it comes in a 275/70R/17 with 8.5" wide wheel.

Any other ideas?
