Dark Gray Metallic Owners-hot In Summer???

Greetings,

I live in the deep south, which has the benefit of short and mild winters(excepting the last 3 days). However, our summer lasts quite a long time and it gets as hot as Africa here !

I absolutely love the Dark Gray Metallic color, but I'm scared that it will be too hot down here in the summer. I had a dark blue Suburban one time, and swore that I'd not make that mistake again. The AC could hardly overpower the heat. I haven't seen a Dark Gray Metallic Avalance, but I did see a Silverado in that color, and to me it almost appears to be black.

I currently have a white truck, and really like it, but personally it doesn't show well on the Avalanche (no flames white AVY owners). So that really leaves me with only the Light Pewter Metallic. Great color, but I already have a Suburban that color.

So, what about it Dark Gray Metallic owners? What do you think? TIA

I have a black AV, and live in TX, I know ALL about triple digit temps....

As far as color goes, I wasn't so much worried about the exterior as I was making sure I got cloth inside rather than leather, don't want the back of my legs all blistered up

Ditto here in Arizona. How's 125 degrees plus sound to you July, August, and September?

Absolutely DID NOT WANT LEATHER!

I saw a dark grey metallic AV. From a distance, I swore it was an onyx black model. Up close, it almost had a greenish sheen to it. Looks nice.

Expect it to behave as if you bought a black AV. I would strongly advise against leather if you are subject to hot temps. Unless of course you're into hot buns.

Get it tinted as well, and invest into one of those fancy windshield sun shield protector dash protector thingy.

I recently bought a 2003 Dark Grey Metallic Av... I LOVE the color! Most people ask me if it is black... some people think it is dark green... some people think it is dark blue... the pimped out look of black, but with a subtle change

The thing I like most about the color... is it matches the 2003 cladding almost to the color... no need to paint mine
