Dashboard And Interior

I was about to start ordering all my Zaino stuff but was wondering what everyone was using to clean their dashboards and the rest of the interior.

That damp cloth idea is a great idea. I notice how shiny / slippery it gets. It becomes a dust magnet after a few days. I have to try this

I made the mistake of using Armor-All on floor mats, pedals, etc. once a while ago - very slippery and downright dangerous. I think that I followed up with formula 409 or something to get rid of the stuff. Now, the dash isn't so bad, but I'd avoid getting it on anything that you don't want to slip off of!

I've read that Armorall can be a bad idea because it can dry out whatever you use it on. Is there a better product to replace Armorall?

Yes that is what I heard when it came to using Armorall on Tires. Over time you would see tires with little cracks in them from heavy Armorall usage. I don't know if this still applies or even if the dashboard could be effected by it.

I just used Dri Wash N'Guard leather and vinyl cleaner/protectant on my interior, including dash. Looks great, can't say anything else.

Don't know how much protection it offers, but their website claims it is great.

The 'wax' did a wonderful job on the paint. So far I'm impressed with their stuff.

Now to get 303 for the cladding.

I use the the Armoral leather wipes for the leather seats and use the standard wipes for the dash etc...

I'm just going to use what I got, then I'm going to go with some of the products recommended in this section....I have heard that Armoral isn't the best choice either...

TO clean the interior parts: Wet a Micro fiber towel with water and wipe. FOr stubborn spots try Charlie's Soap, Meguiar's interior cleaner, or Eimann Fabric Spot cleaner diluted.

TO protect the parts use 303, Black Magic Semi Gloss dashboard protectant, Zaino Leather in a bottle, Zaino tire dressing, or any other PDMS water based protectant.

With leather seats I recommend cleaning them with a leather cleaner about 3-6 times a year with spot cleaning with a wet micro fiber towel and apply a leather conditioner of choice about 6-12 times a year. in between apply 303 or other stuff listed above.

Save Armor All or STP vinyl protectant for the fender wells.

On leather:Zaino leather treatment www.zainobros.com or leatherique www.leatherique.com (I have not used leatherique yet,but it sounds good!).

Leatherique is pretty good but pricey.

FOr my leather seats and interior I use the Zaino leather in a bottle on everything.

Armoral is NOT a good product for the dash. It will cause cracks eventually int he dash. Also notice on tires as it wears off the tires turn brown in color. Armoral is not all that its CRACKED up to be...IMO.... ha ha.

I use Amorall for the wheel wells only.

On the interior so far, I have only used a specially treated towel with Goof Off. It works well to get dust and small particles off the dash without film or smell.

I'm trying to hold on to that new car smell as long as possible!!

In the wheel wells makes the truck look brand new everytime!!! Worth it and easy to do.

while I certainly hose off the wheel wells when cleaning the truck, I have never ever thought about armor-alling the inside of the wheel wells - maybe if my truck was in some sort of show or something, but damn that is waay past how far I go, and I thought I was a clean car fanatic . . .

The Mcquires interior vinyl cleaner goes on shiny, but after it dries, it leaves the dash very clean without the high gloss.

The Armorall in the wheel wells sounds like a good idea to keep things looking clean and new. I'm already crawling under to wash those yellow shocks.

The absolute best that I have used for leather is Lexol. They have a nice Leather Cleaner (orange bottle) and Leather Conditioner/Preservative (in a brown bottle). I have use this product for a long time for my leather seats in my Corvettes. Really cleans and protects. I had a hard time finding it for a while, but recently got both cleaner and conditioner at my local GM dealer. Makes the interior smell great too (not too strong). Highly recommended.

Zaino Leather in A Bottle is what I use on the interior. It adds just enough gloss, and it smells great.

Most leather conditioners are about the same but I do prefer the smell of Zaino.
